Avon Old Farms School is a boarding school in Hartford County, CT. It competes in the regular season in the prep school Founders League. It’s post-season tournament opportunity would lie in a seeding in the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class A (large school) division. The rosters of AOF and it’s competition are heavily loaded with college-bound players, including both post-grad and high school grade players.

AOF is poised for a solid season in 2020-2021. The Winged Beavers overhauled the roster, bringing back only four returners with the rest of the team being newcomers.

Anthony Clayton (5’11) and Tyler Warner (6’11) have taken their games to the next level and colleges have taken notice. Clayton is well-sought after among D3 schools in New England and New York, while Warner is being recruited by a number of Patriot and Ivy League schools. The other two key returners include juniors Jared Flaks and Nate Walters, who provide shooting and floor spacing capabilities.

Aidan Horan (6’5), Omari Salvi (6’6) and Myles Johnson (6’2) are post graduates with tremendous upside. This trio provides experience - over 3,000 collective points at their previous schools - as well as length, athleticism, and depth. All three are hearing from D1 and D2 schools.

According to Coach Matt Mihalich, this team has focused on shooting since the end of last season’s campaign. “Due to Covid restrictions, with less games being played, these guys have had the chance to work on their individual skill set. These guys seized that opportunity to break down their game and build it back up, and they’ve all come back improved. I’m very excited about this group. They love to work, and they push each other.”
