Gauchos Roundball Classic - Top Performers 10/16/20

On Friday night, RecruitTheBronx.com caugt another set of games in the Gauchos Roundball Classic at the Gauchos Gym in The Bronx. We got to check out two games, with the first game between Team Unite (a team comprised of players from CHSAA AA Monsignor Scanlan High School) and Team Brooklyn (a team comprised of players from PSAL Brooklyn AA Eagle Academy II) and the second game between the Bronx Bombers (a team comprised of players from CHSAA AA St. Raymond High School) and Diallo Elite (a team comprised of players from PSAL Queens AA John Bowne High School). Below are the standouts from the games:

 

Kesean Tracey 5-8, Point Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2021, Team Unite - A guard that is quick and is great in transition. Knows when and where to distribute the ball to his teammates at the right times. Loves to play on the fast break.

 

Melvin Evans 6-4, Shooting Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2021, Team Unite - A guard that has scoring tendencies when he has the ball in his hands. Is quick and deceptive and is very good at getting to the basket. Is fearless when going to the hole to score.

 

Chris Harvin 6-3, Shooting Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that has a knack for scoring at the right moments. Has a good frame that allows him to get rebounds and steals. Does everything that his team needs on the floor and is very active on both ends of the court.

 

Jayden Mills 6-4, Forward, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2022, Team Unite - A forward that is strong and agile in the low post. Has good hands that aid him in getting rebounds and blocking shots. Is known for getting loose balls on the court.

 

Bryce Simmons 6-0, Shooting Guard, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2023, Team Unite - A guard that has a scorers mentality and can do many things on the floor. Loves to penetrate to the basket and makes great drives in order to draw fouls. Sees the floor well and can create for himself on the offensive end.

 

Jakai Sanders 6-2, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2024, Team Brooklyn - A guard that is quick and deceptive and is able to run a team in transition. Looks for his teammates at all times and can get past defenders easily. Is good at facilitating to his teammates.

 

Jonte Wallace 6-3, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2021, Team Brooklyn - A forward that is mobile and is able to use his physicality to impose his will on the floor. Is very strong and gives the maximum effort when he steps on the court. Is a great rebounder in the low post.

 

Treshawn Sheppard 6-3, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2023, Team Brooklyn - A swing man that makes smooth moves to the basket and makes the most of his possessions when on the floor. Is a player that likes to score in transition and can also rebound. Loves to run on the fast break.

 

Malachi Smith 6-0, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2021, Bronx Bombers - A guard that loves to play up-tempo, but can also slow down the game when things get hectic. The University of Dayton is excited about landing another Smith brother in their program. This one is a natural born leader on the floor and is able to get his teammates into the game. Has a knack for making clutch passes or clutch shots.

 

Jalen Lyn 6-1, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2023, Bronx Bombers - A guard that is very mature in the way he plays and shows plenty of poise in his game. Is a good distributor and has good defensive instincts and can see where his teammates are moving at all times, which gives him the opportunity to pass the ball at the right times. Has great IQ for his position.

 

Jireej Cole 6-5, Forward, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2023, Bronx Bombers - A forward that has plenty of physicality in his game and uses his strength to impose his will in the low post. Has plenty of athleticism and can attack the boards in the paint. Is good at blocking shots.

 

Francesk Plumaj 6-1, Shooting Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2021, Bronx Bombers - A guard that does everything that is required of him on the floor and gives plenty of energy for his team. Has a penchant for attacking the defense by getting to the basket and makes fearless drives to the hole.

 

Kedar Davis 6-4, Forward, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2022, Bronx Bombers - A forward that is a great physical presence in the low post and imposing with his strength and build. Has plenty of toughness and is able to hold his own in the paint area. Is able to get rebounds efficiently and is known for getting put backs and can play above the rim.

 

Ray Pimentel 5-6, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2022, Bronx Bombers - A guard that isn’t big, but plays bigger than his stature. Is very fast and can see the court well when he has the ball on offense. On defense, he watches the opposition like a hawk & is great for picking apart a guard for steals.

 

Tyshawn Trail 6-2, Shooting Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2021, Diallo Elite - A guard that makes plenty of good decisions on the offensive end. Is great at penetrating to the hole, and is good at attacking the open lane. Has a great shooting touch.

 

Amadou Diallo 5-10, Point Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2021, Diallo Elite - A guard that has plenty of quickness and is able to make strong drives to the basket and is very fearless when going up for baskets. Has good hands which allow him to obtain steals, which lead to either assists or him scoring. Is able to score consistently.

 

Mouhamed Dioubate 6-7, Forward, John Bowne High School, Class of 2022, Diallo Elite - A forward that is very strong when going to the hole. Is a player that can put the ball on the floor and is able to penetrate to the basket and also has a nice shooting touch. Loves to play above the rim, and also has active hands when it comes to blocking shots or getting rebounds.

 

Aguibou Balde 6-5, Forward, John Bowne High School, Class of 2021, Diallo Elite - A forward that has a lot of strength, and has plenty of versatility. Is very skilled at his position and is able to do many things in the low post. Makes it a mission to create for himself off the dribble and is able to drive to the basket easily.

 

Rasean Greer 6-1, Point Guard, John Bowne High School, Class of 2022, Diallo Elite - A guard that is good at creating for himself and giving his teammates the ball, so that they can be in position to score. Has great court vision when it comes to distributing the ball. Has great hands and is able to come between the opposition by getting steals.
