2020 Real Scout Upstate Gems Showcase Top Performers

On Saturday, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to Cohoes, New York for the Real Scout Upstate Gems College Exposure Showcase at the Gateway Sports Complex. In this event, players from Long Island, New York City and upstate New York showcased their talents via livestreams to coaches watching the action. Here are the names of the standouts from the event:
Javel Cherry, 6-3, Point Guard, Poughkeepsie High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that plays the point guard position very well. Is a guard that likes to read his teammates, as far as where they’re moving around the floor and also the defense. Is an excellent passer and can get a lot of assists and also knows when to go for baskets.
Marqiis Samuels, 6-0, Point Guard, East Meadow High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has plenty of quickness and uses his speed to get to the basket. Is great for getting steals and is very active on the defensive end. Has a penchant for scoring in transition and is fearless when going to the hole.
Aishon Wright, 6-1, Shooting Guard, Colonie High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that is quick and loves to drive through the lane to get to the basket. Uses his shiftiness to get downcourt and then is able to get his jumper off. Has a nice shooting touch.
Chase Robinson, 5-9, Point Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that loves to run up and down the court. Is a great playmaker and decision maker when he has the ball in his hands. Gets after loose balls and gets plenty of steals and is able to get back to the basket in quick fashion.
Todd Williamson, 6-2, Forward, Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons School, Class of 2021 - An undersized forward that has plenty of strength in him, but also plays like a guard. Uses his strength to get rebounds and also block shots. Is great at getting putbacks and obtaining baskets.
Bryce Williams Bryce Williams, 6-2, Shooting Guard. Christ the King, Class of 2023 - A guard that makes heady plays and is a consistent scorer. Knows when and where to take shots and is quick to get to the basket at will. A guard that can create for himself off the dribble.
Christian Bliss Christian Bliss, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Molloy High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is an excellent playmaker and is able to make his teammates flourish. Has a good penchant for reading the defense and is able to create for himself on the perimeter. Showcases plenty of athleticism when going to the basket and finds multiple ways to score.
Dayshaun Walton, 6-4, Shooting Guard, Green Tech High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a long wingspan and is able to see where his teammates are moving so that he can give them passes. Has the ability to attack the basket and has a penchant for driving to the basket. Is a potent scorer that will make highlight-reel plays.
Aaron Davis, 6-6, Shooting Guard, St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, Class of 2023 - A long guard that can also play the wing position and can also overpower players that are smaller than him due to his height advantage. Is able to penetrate into the lane and score in bunches. Is a player that can take over games when he has the ball in his hands.
Tarique Foster Tarique Foster, 6-8 Forward, Cardinal Hayes High School, Class of 2022 - A forward that has a long frame and isn’t afraid to show off his athleticism at any time. Is very active when it comes to the defensive end and knows how to attack the glass for rebounds. On offense, he has a nice pull-up jumper, but mostly plays above the rim.
Randy Crosby Randy Crosby, 6-0, Point Guard, WHEELS, Class of 2021 - A guard that has a lot of quickness and has a penchant for playing tough defense on the opposition. Has a knack for getting steals and converting that into offensive possessions that lead to easy baskets.
Alberto Vargas Alberto Vargas, 5-10, WHEELS, Class of 2021 - A guard that is lightning-quick and is able to get to the basket with ease. Is great at finding multiple ways to score on offense. Has a penchant for getting steals on the defensive end and is able convert that into fast break points for the offense.
Jalen Sabino Jalen Sabino, 5-10, WHEELS, Class of 2021 - A guard that is very quick and can make plenty of good decisions with the ball. Is very fearless when getting into the lane for two. Can easily get past defenders off the dribble and is known to make acrobatic layups. Has a good shooting stroke.
Jazan Johnson Jazan Johnson, 5-10, Point Guard, Benjamin Cardozo High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that is a playmaker first and a scorer second when he has the ball in his hands. Has a penchant for giving teammates the ball at the right time. Has plenty of athleticism & has the ability to play above the rim and has a good jump shot.
Jaden Daughtry Jaden Daughtry, 6-5, Shooting Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that is a great facilitator for his teammates and can set up his teammates for baskets at a huge rate. Is a player that is very active on the boards and has a great motor. Knows when to be active for the ball and when to take the clutch shots.
Zaccai Curtis, 6-5, Forward, Poughkeepsie High School, Class of 2022 - A forward, that has a lot of energy when he’s on the court. Is always ready to get down for a loose ball and has superb athleticism, which allows him to play above the rim. Is also a player that likes to block shots on the defensive end at his size.
Jahlyl Morgan, 6-2, Point Guard, Poughkeepsie High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that is small in size, but is not afraid to take charge of a team. Is a great playmaker that knows when to give teammates the ball and has excellent court vision. Sees the floor well when it comes to playing on the perimeter and finds multiple ways to score.
Royal Brown, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Cohoes High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that is known for his scoring prowess. Uses his dribble to make defenders back off him and is always able to get to the basket with ease. Has a nice shooting touch and can also pass the ball well. Also has great leaping ability, which allows him to play above the rim.
Dante Green Dante Green, 6-3, Shooting Guard, Half Hollow Hills East High School, Class of 2023 - A guard that plays bigger than his height and can do multiple things on the court. Is great for blocking shots and getting rebounds. On offense, he is known for making layups and also throwing down insane dunks. Also, has a nice shooting stroke.
Alex Barnhill, 6-7, Forward, Mekeel Christian Academy, Class of 2021 - A forward that has guard skills and can also play on the perimeter, as well as make sure that he holds his own in the paint. Can attack the glass area for rebounds and can put the ball on the floor, as well. Is known for playing above the rim, as well, and has a nice jumpshot.
