Diamonds In The Ruff Showcase 12/3/20

On December 3, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to Next Level Sports in Huntington, Long Island for the second installment of the Diamonds in the Ruff Showcase. In this session, many of the players were seniors and juniors and competed in front of a livestream of coaches watching virtually. Here are the standouts from the event:

 

Keith Mency 6-2, Point Guard, Archbishop Stepinac High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that has a lot of energy on the floor and is very active when getting on defense. Is very quick and uses his speed to get to the hole so that he could score at will. Is also someone that could shoot off the dribble.

 

Marquis Samuels 6-0 Point Guard, East Meadow High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has a lot of court vision and quickness that he uses to get to the basket. Is a really good defensive player that can get steals when guarding the opposition heavily. Is able to set his teammates up for assists.


RJ Greene 6-5, Shooting Guard, Iona Preparatory School, Class of 2022 - A guard that has plenty of strength when driving to the hole. Showcases plenty of athleticism when going into the lane for a dunk or a layup. Has plenty of hustle and uses it to his advantage.

 

Quaran McPherson 6-4, Shooting Guard, Woodstock Academy (CT), Class of 2021 - A guard that makes very powerful moves to the basket and is very strong when it comes to going to the basket. Is able to showcase his athleticism when he goes up to the rim. Has a penchant for playing defense and can use his strength to obtain rebounds and takes off on the offensive end to get to the basket.

 

Jayden Lemond 6-4, Point Guard, Blair Academy (NJ), Class of 2023 - A guard that is a great playmaker and is able to use his strength to get past defenders and absorb contact when driving into the lane. Is a player that can shoot from various places on the court. Is able to see where his teammates are moving on the court.

 

Joshua Zangerle 6-5, Forward, Archbishop Stepinac High School, Class of 2021 - A forward that has a long wingspan and length and is able to get rebounds and blocked shots. Is able to impose his presence in the paint area and uses his size to intimidate smaller defenders from coming into the lane. Has a good hook shot and is able to back his defender down and shoot over him.

 

Elijah Muhammad 6-10, Forward, Eagle Academy, Class of 2021 - A forward that has a big frame and imposes his size on smaller defenders. Has the ability to alter the shot of the opposition and has the ability to grab rebounds over the outstretched arms of the opposition. Loves to play above the rim.

 

CJ Riley 5-10, Point Guard, Wings Academy, Class of 2022 - A guard that is very quick and determines where and when his teammates move on the floor. Is able to guard the opposition heavily and is able to get them to give up the ball for him to get steals. Knows when to give his teammates passes in order for them to score.

 

Darian Parks 6-10, Forward, Chaminade High School, Class of 2021 -A forward that can play like a guard as far as putting the ball on the floor and running the floor well despite his size. Is able to attack the glass for rebounds and can establish his presence in the paint area. Is very strong and is able to power his way to the rim.

 

Colby Jordan 6-1, Point Guard, Half Hollow Hills West High School, Class of 2021 - A speedy guard that makes plenty of moves when he has the ball. Moves well off the ball and is able to get to the basket easily. Showcases plenty of athleticism when going up to score.

 

Sean Durugordon 6-6, Shooting Guard, John Adams High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that has a penchant for scoring in bunches and is a ball-dominant player. Is a player that loves to play above the rim and knows when to showcase his athleticism. Has the ability to see the floor and pass the ball to his teammates.

 

Deven Avant, 6-1, Point Guard, Holy Cross High School, Class of 2021 - A solid playmaker that loves to bring the ball up the court and knows how to create for himself off the dribble. Is very aware of where his teammates are moving on the court and makes good passes which lead to scoring opportunities. Has a penchant for waiting for the ball on the perimeter and takes a good shot if he has it.

 

Michael Bowman, 6-2, Point Guard, Scholars Academy, Class of 2021 - A guard that has excellent court vision and is able to get his teammates involved in many ways. Loves to drive to the basket and can see where his teammates are moving and makes sure that they are able to get passes at the right moments. Is fearless when going into to the hole.

 

Danny Carbuccia 5-11, Point Guard, Mott Hall Middle School, Class of 2025 -A guard that has superb court vision and has excellent IQ for his position. Is great for finding teammates for passes that lead to them getting baskets. Is able to handle the ball from the perimeter and can dribble off the pick and roll and is easily able to create for himself.

 

Ryan Hudson 6-2, Point Guard, Holy Cross High School, Class of 2021 - A guard that has a great IQ for his position. Knows how to control a team and can get after the ball on the defensive end. Has a penchant for scoring heavily and getting to the basket with ease.

 

Kacper Klaczek 6-8, Forward, Long Island Lutheran High School, Class of 2021 - A forward that has plenty of strength in the paint area, but also has a lot of versatility in his game. Uses his strength to impose his will, especially when it comes to rebounding. Is a force when he plays above the rim and can also put the ball on the floor.

 

Aaron Talbert 6-0, Point Guard, The Knox School, Class of 2022 -A guard that has a penchant for driving into the lane and is a good finisher at the basket. Has good instincts when running the team and has the ability to pass the ball, which leads to assists, which in turn leads to baskets. Is fearless when going to the basket.

 

Khalil London 6-3, Point Guard, St. Dominic High School, Class of 2022 - A guard that is able to facilitate to his teammates and create for himself on the offensive end. Has great IQ and knows when to take a shot and when to pass. Loves to drive into the lane, but can also shoot jumpers from different places on the floor.

 

Andre Snoddy 6-6, Forward, St. Thomas More School (CT), Class of 2021 - A forward that loves to put the ball on the floor and is a great finisher at the rim. Knows how to establish his presence in the paint area and is able to get to the basket with ease. Is a great rebounder that can establish his presence in the paint.

 

Aaron Davis, 6-5, Shooting Guard, St. Benedict’s Preparatory School (NJ), Class of 2023 - A guard that makes the most of his positions and goes all out every time he’s on the floor. Is a player that makes hustle plays and goes up for rebounds. On the offensive end, he is able to get to the basket with ease.
