2023 PSAL College Exposure Showcase Player Profiles

On this June 16-18, PSAL, the New York City public school athletic league is taking advantage of the NCAA window for hosting a scholastic based D1 Live Period showcase. The event will be held at Uncommon Charter High School in Brooklyn.


Below are the profiles of some of the participants:


Abraham Lincoln High


Nasir Woodin (2025) 6’3 guard - An explosive leaper with a hard-to-guard first step. Playing AAU ball at the highest level with New Heights.

 

 

Adlai Stevenson High


Malik Fields (2026) 6’2 guard - ASHs leading scorer as a freshman. Fields handles the ball well and orchestrates an offense like an upperclassmen. Additionally, his range extends well beyond the 3-point line.

 

 

Baruch College Campus High


Ermin Sabovic (2024) 6’3 guard - Last winter, Sabovic went for 14.5ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.1apg this past season. Plays off the ball, but due to injury played point guard most of season for a Sweet 16 team. He handles it well, and is a terrific athlete. He can shoot off dribble very well and is a terrific defender. Excellent in transition both ways. Made a bunch of critical 3’s during the season and is a leader in the court. Great academics


Nick Cozzolino (2024) 6’3 guard - Last winter, Cozzolino went for 19ppg, 5rpg, 3apg. He was the leading scorer on the team as a junior. He is a terrific shooter, off dribble or catch. He can play big and post smaller guards. He rebounds well and can create his own shot. Great academics.

 


Benjamin Cardozo High


Josiah Andre (2024) 5’11 point guard - Starting point guard, and led the team to a 28-4 record this past winter. The ultimate team player


Fernando Ynoa (2025) 6’7 forward - Shows flashes of excellence. Long and lean. Runs well and defends well, just needs experience.


Brandon Barrett (2024) 6’6 forward - Has only been playing for a few years, but now on track to be one the conference’s best bigs this next winter. Strong and physical.


Courtney Brown (2024) 6’2 guard - Very athletic, and getting more skilled every day. He has good range, just needs more experience.


Joseph Ching (2024) 6’2 guard - Very solid fundamentally and has skills, just needs to be a bit more selfish.


Darren Gooden (2024) 6’3 power forward - Plays physical down low, always giving 100 %. Strong and quick. The ultimate role player.


Justin Lagman (2024) 5’10 guard - A sturdy and sure player who rarely makes a mistake. Makes his teammates better. 3.9 gpa


Malike Smart (2024) 5’11 guard - Athletic and explosive. Tremendous quickness. When he gets hot, watch out. Gets into it defensively.


Kezie Ukwuani (2024) 6’4 power forward - Solid rebounder and a force down low. Tries to block or alter everything. Skills are improving rapidly.


Davian Walker (2024) 5’11 guard - Plenty of flashes, consistency is needed. Never takes a play off, guards opponent’s best guard.


Jordin Walker (2024) 5’11 guard - Walkers name will pop up whenever people are discussing Queens and NYCs best guards.
 

 

 


Bronx High School of Science


Andrew Kibel (2024) 5’10 point guard - Kibel has a great midrange game and can get to his spots with my crafty ball handling. He is a knockdown 3 point shooter with deep range. He always plays hard and is working on getting stronger. He is looking to play high academic D3. Plays AAU with Pro Level Titans. Video highlights 4.8 gpa 1550 SAT 35 ACT


Brooklyn Collegiate High

 

Michael Bruno III (2024) 6’3 guard - A scoring/playmaking guard who can score points in bunches from all three levels. Consistently knocks down deep threes. Great IQ and feel for the game.


Tyler Edore (2024) 6’7 forward - Edore broke the school’s single season record for blocked shots and is a force down low. He also has a soft touch and an extremely consistent jump shot. Capable of dominating the glass and finishes extremely well with both hands.


Milan Harricharan (2024) 6’1 shooting guard - A quick and strong guard who defends and makes shots. Deadly when left open from 3. Uses his speed to cause chaos in transition.


Jayden Johnson (2024) 6’1 guard - a super crafty point guard with an elite midrange game. Impossible to stay in front of in transition and uses his 6’5” wingspan to force a lot of turnovers.

 

Tori Babs-Ogundeji (2025) 6’5 small forward - A versatile wing who uses his 7’ wingspan to guard all five positions. Excels in transition and can knock down shots and dominate a game from the mid post.

 

Avery Headley (2025) 6’7 forward - A big physical wing with elite strength and athleticism. Capable of scoring on all three levels and guarding multiple positions. Scary in transition.


Flavio Jean (2025) 6’0 guard - Gritty NYC guard with a the ability to blow by defenders and knock down deep threes. Plays with a big time chip on his shoulder and unmatched toughness. Consistently takes and makes tough shots


Jaziah Luckie-Carter (2025) 6’7 wing - A versatile wing capable of plying the 2,3, or 4. Fast twitch defender with bounce,  a tight handle, and elite passing ability.

Community Health Academy of the Heights

 

John Harrington (2024) 6’2 guard - Harrington led all of PSAL in scoring with 38 ppg. He met every challenge in front of him, and CHAH should be able to build an improved team around him to lead in 2023-24.

 

Leuri Sosa (2024) 6’3 guard - Leuri exploded his junior year, scoring over 15 points per game and was among the league leaders in 3 pointers made. Leuri is an excellent student as well.

 

 

 

 

Eagle Academy (Bronx)

 

Braylin Sanjurjo (2024) 5’11 point guard - Sanjurjo is a heady point guard who will be leading the team. Excellent court vision and can score the ball when needed. Recently have added the 3 point shoot in his arsenal.

 

D’Andre Gibbs (2024) 6’2 guard - Gibbs is a tremendous threat from any area on the court. Will look to Dre to score the rock, defend and be an important piece to defend the title.

Marcus Vincenti (2024) 6’4 wing - Improved player. Solid inside player in the high post and paint. Consistent Rebounder. Solid On ball defender with the ability to alter and block shots. Showing a lot of growth in his skills with consistent improvement will be a solid player at the collegiate level.

 

 

 


George Westinghouse High

 

Andre Wright Jr. (2024) 6’0 guard - Physical player. Shoots the 3 with range off the catch and off the dribble. Crafty lefty.  He gets to the rim and finishes with both hands. Rebounds well for his size. Hard worker. Great teammate.


Zyon Wilson (2024) 5’10 guard - Athletic and explosive off the dribble. Shoots the 3 and pull-up jump shot. Athletic defender.


Davon Blake (2026) 5’10 guard - Varsity starter as a freshman. Physical off of the dribble. An Athletic and creative finisher at the rim. Tough defender. Will shoot the 3.


Stefon Gil Brice (2024) 5’8 guard - A shooter. Hard working defender. Makes plays. Coachable.


Jahsean Wilkerson (2024) 6’5 small forward - Offensive rebounder. Defends well. Can shoot the 10-12 ft jump shot. Uses his athleticism in transition.


Reginald Roberson (2024) 5’9 guard - A shooter. Can get into lane. Uses floater/runner well. Can finish with either hand.


Carmine Andrews-Bain (2024) 6’3 small forward - A great off/def rebounder. Athletic shot blocker. Runs the floor well. Works hard.


Kevon Daniel (2024) 5’10 guard - A speedy, physical athletic guard that get to the rim. Shoots the pull-up jump shot. Good defender. 3.2 gpa


Davone Brooks (2024) 6’2 small forward - A physical player. Plays inside and out. Shoots the ball well. Rebounds and start the break.


Bryant Lafleurtwine (2024) 6’1 guard - A shooter. Can shoot with range off the dribble or catch and shoot. Uses the floater on dribble drive.

Noah Kay (2024) 6’4 wing - Kay loves to attack the basket to create for himself and teammates.and my teammates. He has a great pull up midrange jumper. He is a scrappy team defender and rebounder. Always goes 100%. 4.0 gpa Video highlights

Jayquan Lee (2023) 6’1 195 lb shooting guard - A 3 level scorer, with great range.  3 level scorer with deep range with very creative ways to get open off the dribble. Capable rebounder and passer. Just turned 17. NYS 16th Team All State A Division. Video highlights

 

Marques Hutchinson (2023) 6’2 165 lb guard - Hutchinson can both score and facilitate.3 level scorer who can play either guard position. Gets to his spots via dribble and loves to compete. Team Captain. NYS 6th Team All State A Division. 2.5 gpa Video highlights

 

Ibrahim Konate (2023) 6’5 220 lb small forward - Mr Do-It-All. This past winter, he averaged 13 ppg, 14 rpg, 5apg, 3 stlpg and 4 blkpg. Great build on swingman with 3pt range, quick hands, solid rebounder who has excellent shot blocking ability. Team Captain .NYS 10th Team All State A Divison. 3.4 gpa Video highlights

Andrew Parrish (2025) 5’11 point guard - A pass-first point guard. Can run a team and is a true leader. Parrish is very shifty and can definitely score the ball. Considered to be one of the top guards in NYC.


Joel Ofori (2025) 6’7 wing - The sky is the limit for Ofori. He is long and athletic, very skilled and can take his defender off of the dribble. He is a big time rebounder. His ability to impact the game will grow as he makes himself stronger. 3.0 gpa


Taquil “JJ” Edmonds (2025) 6’1 combo guard - Edmonds is very athletic and can score in every way.


Jayden Hernandez (2026) 6’1 point guard - Hernandez is a lefty point guard that can also play the 2. He can run a team, and score from both the mid range and with the deep ball.


Drew Parrish (2024) 5’10 point guard - Parrish is a true point guard: He is a big time creator and passer who can get to his spot whenever he wants. 3 level scorer who can finish at the rim, hit the pull-up mid range, and make teams pay for going under ball screens with the 3 ball. Great decision maker in ball screens and has incredible court vision. Guards the other team’s best player and is a pest as an on the ball defender. Great leader and teammate who always holds everyone accountable.

Tylar Okai-koi (2024) 6’3 guard - Okai-koi can create his own shot, and is a high IQ player who can get his teammates involved. He can knock down the 3 and finish above the rim in transition.

 

 

 

 


Norman Thomas High

 

Jaden Chazulle (2024) 6’4 forward - A high academic who is highly coachable. The ultimate team guy, will do anything to help the team win. Rapidly improving his skills and has a tremendous work ethic. Highly coachable and great character. 3.7 gpa


Jason Guzman (2024) 5’10 guard - Highly coachable and high character guy. A terrific rebounder, strong ball handler can get through pressure, terrific shooter and capable as well as working towards being a knockdown shooter. Knows where to be on the floor at all times. 3.3 gpa

 

 

 

 

 

Seward Park Campus

 


Cameron Ruiz (2024) 5’11 guard - Ruiz is a scrappy NYC point guard that can be very disruptive on the defensive side of the ball. On the open floor he can get to the basket and will draw a lot of fouls. Ruiz is willing to sacrifice his body during loose ball opportunities. A true competitor on both sides of the ball.

 

LaShawn Goodman (2025) 6’3 small forward - A true point forward who is a creator and looking to get teammates involved early- can play around the perimeter and close to the basket. Has elite interior and transition passing skills. Gets to the basket well and can score against different sized defenders. Rotates and anticipates well on defense. Has a strong understanding of the game, works hard and is coachable. Makes everyone on his team better.

 

 

 

 

Thurgood Marshall Academy

 

Trenel Martin (2024) 6’1 guard - Martin disrupts offensive passing lanes with his wingspan. Finishes at the cup in transition and runs the floor in attack mode. Has a chance being so young to grow a few more inches which will change histrajectory in recruitment. At this moment D2/3.


Zaire Butts (2024) 6’0 guard - Butts is a pit bull on defense and a true leader on the court. Fierce competitor who thrives in transition. Division 2 caliber player with D1 athleticism.  This summer will boost his stock. Plays AAU with Castle Athletics.


Dyaus Cintron (2024) 5’9 guard - A dynamo who can hit the three efficiently and guard 94ft. Continues to get better working on his body. D3 schools need to get in tune with this guard because a good summer will change his recruitment quickly.

Ahmad Torrence (2024) 6’5 guard - Recently transferred from Hudson Catholic High (NJ). Recently offered by Fordham. Very high basketball IQ. Shoots the 3 ball efficiently and is able to score the ball in off the catch, off the dribble, in transition, and off of the pick & roll. Extremely confident ball handler that handles the pace of the game with ease. Great defender that can defend all five positions. Sneaky athleticism and plays with a chip on his shoulder. 3.4 gpa

 

 

 

 


Washington Heights Expeditionary Learning School (W.H.E.E.L.S.)


Kaelen Destin (2025) 6’0 guard - Though only a tenth grader, this electric lead guard led PSAL AA in scoring. This floor scores at all 3 levels, as well as distributes to others. Possessing a tremendous handle, good size, moves and shooting ability.

 

 

 

 

 

William E Grady CTE High


Jean Alliance (2023) 6’0 guard - Tough nosed, elite defender. A solid passer.  A shooter who is also really good at finishing around the rim.


Demani Seabrook (2023) 6’4 guard - A really good shooter and a decent ball handler. Good rebounder.


Babekir Elshiek (2023) 6’3 small forward - A high school version of Draymond Green, plays both ends of the floor with a high IQ.


Isaac Francis (2023) 6’3 guard - Francis is an athletic defender. He is a shooter, a slasher and a decent ball handler.


Aaron Seales (2023) 6’2 guard - Physical and athletic player. He is a great rebounder and good around the rim. Seales is and defensive force and a good shooter.

Josmar Acevedo (2024) - Team leader. Very solid and fundamental player.  Needs to be more selfish.
