2023 King Hoops 17u and 16u Player Profiles

KING Hoops is a NYC based AAU program with kids from Queens, Harlem, the Bronx, Lower Manhattan, Brooklyn, and New Jersey.  After strong efforts at Spooky Nook, Gym Rat, and finishing as a semi-finalist at Rumble in the Bronx, KING hoops is loaded with college basketball talent with qualifying players at all 5 positions. KING Hoops 17u and 16u will conclude their season at Atlantic City Live July 5th-7th.

 


Their 17u team is coached by Floyd Morris (609-273-0826), Owen Smith (585-750-2999), and their roster is as follows:

 

Drew Parrish (2024) 5’10 point guard, Murry Bergtraum High - Parrish is a True point guard: He is a big time creator and passer who can get to his spot whenever he wants. 3 level scorer who can finish at the rim, hit the pull-up mid range, and make teams pay for going under ball screens with the 3 ball. Great decision maker in ball screens and has incredible court vision. Guards the other team’s best player and is a pest as an on the ball defender. Great leader and teammate who always holds everyone accountable.

 

Jeremy Bowers (2024) 5’11 guard All Hallows -  Bowers is an exceptional ball handler who can get downhill to the rim in a hurry. Has turned into an exceptional catch and shoot 3 point shooter and has a great knack for finishing with both hands around the basket. Bowers can create for himself or for others as he excels coming off ball screens and reading the defense. Late game, the ball is in Bowers hands as he is going to hit the clutch shot and is the all time leading scorer in King hoops history.


Charlek Rockcliffe (2024) 6’4 wing, John Bowne High - Rockcliffe is a versatile Swiss Army knife who is a matchup nightmare. Rockcliffe can really shoot the 3, posts up smaller guards with great finishing ability at the basket and can blow by bigs off the dribble. Defensively he can guard multiple positions and is a great rebounder on both sides of the ball, and consistently makes winning plays.


Kimorri Samuels (2024) 6’0 guard, Academy of Scholarship and Entrepreneurship- Samuels is an explosive driver and acrobatic finisher around the basket. Samuels can get to the rim at will with his athleticism and downhill ability. He is an absolute blur in transition and scores in bunches once he gets going. Kimorri can finish with both hands and above the rim with ferocity. He is easily the most physically gifted defender on the team who has the potential to lockdown elite guards with his size and wingspan athleticism.


Kaevon Brunson (2024) 6’5 wing, Broome Street Academy - Brunson is a high flying athlete who has high major jumping ability. Brunson has a motor that never ends, always willing to do the dirty work: he is the team’s best rebounder, flying in to create many extra possessions. Brunson can guard all 5 positions with his length, athleticism, and ability to block shots.


Joel Reyes (2024) 6’3 wing, Manhattan Hunter Science HS - Reyes is a lefty who can really drive the ball and finish around the basket, particularly with his left hand. Joel is a great mid range shooter who kills zone defenses with his ability to knock down shots and make the correct read in the middle of the zone. He can guard all 5 positions and rebounds bigger than his size.


Jacob Sarabhayavanija (2023) 6’0 guard Xavier Prep (Chapman University commit) - A lefty sniper from three, he has deep range and can shoot from anywhere on the court. Jacob is lethal from catch and shoot, great off the move out of off ball actions, and punishes the under vs ball screens with the 3 ball. He is strong and athletic and is an exceptional on-ball defender because of this and his will to get stops.


Landing Savane (2023) 6’6 forward. Bishop Loughlin 2023 (Naval Academy Prep School commit) - Savane is a long 4/5 who really impacts games with his size and length. Savane, with a 6’9 wingspan, averages 1-2 dunks a game with his ability to finish over the top of the defense. An improving post player, Savane has great touch around the basket especially with his ability to finish putbacks. Savane is a great rim protector who has the ability to impact all shots and block many above the rim.


Tequil (JJ) Edmonds (2024) 6’1 guard Murry Bergtraum High - Edmonds is an exceptional shooter with deep range who has a great feel for the game. He is a competent ball handler who has a 6’4 wingspan that allows for great finishing ability versus size. Edmonds is a willing passer who is great coming off handoffs and is a fluid mover with the ball in his hands. JJ is an improving defender who projects to be a great on-ball defender versus other guards due to his length.


Zahir Goodman (2024) 6’2 swing, WINGS Academy - Goodman is a versatile swing man who can really shoot the 3 ball and is good in transition especially going to his right hand. He can guard multiple positions due to his length and will to guard lots of players. Great teammate who is always putting the team first.


Justin Boutin (2024) 6’2 forward Winston Prep - Body bruiser who impacts games with his physicality. Boutin is an exceptional rebounder especially defensively who plays his tail off: his enthusiasm and energy during games and his commitment and dedication to his teammates as well as the program are unmatched.

 

 


Their 16u team is coached by Josh Horwitz (314) 915-4343 and Alex Gamble (301) 802-4766, and their roster is as follows:

 

Jaydon Koiner (2024) 6’0 guard, Broome Street Academy - smooth operator who can score the ball at will from anywhere on the court. 3 level scorer who can rise over the top, and hit the consistent mid range jumper. Koiner can blow by any defender at will and will punish defenses for going under ball screens or giving him open looks from 3. Jaydon is a great decision maker in ball screens making great skip/help reads and is an extremely capable defender with his 6’3 long wingspan.


Hank Ford (2025) 6’3 swing, Poly Prep - Ford is a versatile wing who has a unique ability for finishing around the basket with both hands due to his ability to use his body extremely well. Hank can drive past bigger players and post up smaller players with his frame, size, and athleticism while being able to consistently knock down the open 3. Hank is a great on-ball defender being able to guard multiple positions off the dribble and is continuing to add strength to his frame.


Alpha Keita (2024) 6’5 small forward, Bronx Science Academy - Keita is an extremely long stretch big (6’6 wingspan) who has unique natural gifted ability. Keita is a great finisher with incredible touch around the basket with both hands and is lethal sprinting the floor for transition rim run layups. If left open, Keita can knock down the open 3 as he continues to improve in his shooting and will blow by long closeouts to his right hand.  Keita is an absolute beast on the glass affecting and blocking many shots with his size, length, and timing.


Bodie Seidler (2024) 5’9 point guard, Nest School - Seidler is a true PG with incredible vision who is at his best in transition, pushing the pace, reading the defense and making exceptional pass decisions. Bodie is the rock for this group, initiating many possessions with his ball handling and decision making, particularly playing in ball screens or handoffs. Seidler is an extremely reliable on ball defender typically guarding the other team’s primary handler.


Josh Sarabhayavanija (2024) 5’9 guard, Xavier Prep - Sarabhavanija is a true scorer who is as shifty as they come. He can score the ball from anywhere on the court and plays with incredible freedom and fluidly in both actions and dribble drive. An improving passer and decision maker, Josh is a knock down shooter from catch and shoot but also has incredible ability to hit off the dribble shots from both 3 and the mid-range. Josh has incredibly quick hands and feet which allows him to lead the 16u squad in steals.


Jeremy Morales (2025) 5’11 guard,  Bayard Rustin High- Morales is a stocky guard who is an absolute stroke from 3 with deep range.  If Morales gets his feet set and he’s balanced and open, the shot is going down and can light it up in a hurry.  Morales punishes teams for going under handoffs and can score in bunches from 3 and very good in the open court in transition.  Gifted defensively who really excels matching up with stronger guards due to his size.


Wyatt Benson (2025) 6’3 forward, Packer Collegiate School -Benson is a glue-guy for this squad initiating all actions and advantages with ball screens and handoffs, willing to do much of the dirty work with great knack for setting great angled screens and rolling with a purpose and subsequently making the right help decisions around the basket. With his continued ability to finish through contact, Benson is a great rebounder and reliable post and wing defender.


Yash Bhattacharya (2025) 5’11 guard, Clinton Prep - Bhattacharya is a smooth and fluid operator with a knock down mid range pull-up and great ability to play in ball screens and actions.  An improving ball screen decision maker, Battacharya can read the help and make the subsequent read at a high rate and has great ability hitting catch and shoot 3s and pullup 3s.


Sam Snyder (2025) 5’10 guard, Packer Collegiate - Snyder is a hard nosed glue guy who is the team’s best offensive rebounder,  Willing to battle anyone and do all the dirty work creating extra possessions every time he is on the court and winning what seems like every 50/50 ball. Can shoot the open catch and shoot the 3 with confidence.


Max Cormack (2025) 5’10 guard, Avenues of the World - Cormack is a shooter who is improving his ability to drive the ball particularly to his right hand, unselfish player who consistently makes the right play and is a great teammate.
