2023 Fordham University Team Camp Standouts

On June 10, we made it to the legendary Rose Hill Gymnasium on the campus of Fordham University in The Bronx for the annual Fordham Team Camp. Teams teams from the five boroughs and surrounding counties compete as a chance to build team cohesion for the impending high school season and also as a way for prospective players to earn a scholarship. Here are the standouts from the Team Camp:

 

Amadou Barry 5-10, Shooting Guard, James Monroe High School Campus, Class of 2025 - A guard that is quick on his feet and is able to create for himself off the dribble. Knows when to stop attack and is able to get absorb contact when it comes to driving to the basket, drawing a foul easily. Has plenty of heart and is driven to be successful in whatever he does on the court.


Tyler Edore 6-7, Forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that is versatile and has great footwork when in the low post. Has a penchant for playing strong in the low post and completing putbacks. Has the ability to help his team’s impact every time he is on the floor, especially when it comes to rebounding and blocking shots.

 

Jayden Johnson 6-1, Point Guard, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2024 -A guard that has excellent court vision and is able to control the tempo of the game. Has the ability to drive the lane and is great at finishing when going to the basket. Is able to find his teammates and give them passes that could lead to them being able to score.

 

Qinfang Pang 6-9, Forward, Christ the King High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that is able to do plenty of things when on the court. Is very versatile when on the court, as he has a variety of moves that he can use when he has the ball in his hands. Is a good shooter from three-point range and is a player that can step in the low post and can muscle his way into scoring and also obtaining rebounds.

 

Markell Alston 6-1, Point Guard, Christ the King High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that is very tough and has plenty of court vision at all times. Has the opportunity to speed up or slow down the tempo, depending on the type of game that’s taking place at the moment. Is able to drive to the basket and is a good finisher at the cup.

 

Tyler Michel 6-3, Shooting Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to showcase his scoring abilities on the offensive end. Is fearless when driving to the basket, as he is a solid finisher at the rack. Is always alert on the court and looks to anticipate passes and can move off the ball at all times. Is a great shooter from three-point range, who can bury a team with his shooting if not heavily guarded.

 

Oesoemana Sacko 6-7, Forward, St. Francis Preparatory High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that is wise and mature beyond his years and can use his strength to hold his own in the low post. Is fearless when it comes to driving to the basket and can make putbacks on the offensive end. Is a great rebounder and can also block shots.

 

Christian Jeffrey 6-3, Shooting Guard, Bishop Loughlin High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of strength on the court and can make great plays on the court. Is able to score in transition and is able to create for himself off the dribble. Is also a player that can shoot from the perimeter at all times.

 

Jakai Sanders 6-4, Point Guard, Bishop Loughlin High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has a penchant for making a statement on the court with his play. Is a player that likes to run on the fast break and likes to distribute the ball to his teammates. Is a player that likes to shoot from the perimeter and is able to showcase his athletic ability when going to the rim.

 

Keith McKnight, 6-4, Shooting Guard, Teaneck High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the opportunity to make good plays on the court. Has good size and length and can overpower smaller opponents, due to his height. Is able to attack in transition and loves to get down court with ease. Is very explosive and can get to the basket when he has the opportunity.

 

Tai Turnage 5-11, Point Guard, St. Raymond High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of poise and is a true leader as a floor general. Is able to stay with his man at all times on the defensive end and is prone to obtaining steals. Knows when to drive to the basket or when to pull up for a jumper. Is great at distributing the ball to his teammates and putting them in positions to score.

 

Tavien Tyler 5-6, Point Guard, Mount Vernon High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to make his team run efficiently when on the court. Is very quick and has the ability to run on the fast break. Has the ability to make jumpers from the perimeter and from three-point range. Has the ability to find his teammates on the break and put them in position to score.

 

Halon Rawlins 6-6, Forward, Nazareth High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that has the ability to play on the perimeter and can put the ball on the floor. Has a penchant for muscling his way to the basket to score. Has a nice shot from the perimeter, as he is able to pull up and drive. Is able to block shots and also rebound efficiently.

 

Elijah Witter 6-2, Point Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has great court vision and has a penchant for slowing down or speeding up the tempo. Has the ability to shoot from long range. Has the ability to find ways to get open for a shot and can bury a team with his shooting ability.

 

Kevin Kearney 6-8, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has plenty of confidence in his game and can make plenty of noise in the low post. Has good post moves and can put the ball on the floor. Is very explosive on the fast break and is very attentive to the rim when it comes to rebounding, as he also has the ability to make putback dunks. Is also a great defenders, as he is always alert when the opposition is coming towards him.
