2023-24 Trinity Pawling School Season Preview

The Trinity-Pawling School is a boarding prep school in Dutchess County, NY that was founded in 1907. It’s boys varsity basketball team competes in two leagues, the Founders League and the Tri-State League and competes to get seeded in the NEPSAC Class A post season tournament.


Tarik Smith is going into his third year at the helm of the team. Back in the day, Smith was captain of the basketball team at Tufts University where he led the Jumbos to the NCAA Elite 8 and Sweet 16 in back-to-back years.


Historically, Trinity-Pawling’s key players and those of its opponents are all prepping to play collegiate ball. This year is no different, and below are profiles on TP’s 2023-24 key players:


Benedek Maly (2025) 6’7 guard - Plays for FIBA Hungary U18 Team. Athletic and crafty lefty guard who gets to the lane with a variety of moves and finishes above the rim. Has 3 point shot making ability off the dribble. Has shot blocking ability. 3.0 gpa Video highlights


Nico Gordon (2024) 6’9 forward - High IQ center who finishes above the rim, rebounds and protects the rim. 3.8 gpa Video highlights

 

Moussa Kamissoko (2027) 6’8 guard - Versatile guard with great handle and feel for the game. Finishes above the rim and gets to the lane with different moves. Can knock down the three. AAU with with the PSA Cardinals. Video highlights


Jamie Murphy (2024) 6’3 guard - Quick and High IQ guard with ability to get to the lane to create for himself and others. Range out to the 3 line, and great on ball defender. Plays AAU with the NY Lightning 4.0 gpa Video highlights


Jaice Martabano (2025) 6’3 guard - A strong guard has ability to hit the three off the dribble and get to his spots for pull up jumpers and finishes in the lane. 3.5 gpa


Aaron Muhikwa (2024) 6’6 forward - Strong athletic lefty forward that rebounds, and finishes above the rim. 3.2 gpa   Video highlights


Mikey Malachi (2026) 6’0 guard - Quick guard who shoots the three and can penetrate the paint and create shots for himself and others.


Jace Emerson (2025) 6’5 small forward - A strong wing who can rebound, shoot the three and finishes with a variety of moves. 4.0 gpa


Ryan Bellamy (2025)  5’9 guard - Crafty guard that creates driving to the lane and has 3 point range off the dribble. 3.8 gpa


Matt Ostad (2026) 6’1 guard - Lefty guard with ability to knock down the three and finish with floaters around the paint. 4.0 gpa


Liam Norton (2027) 6’2 guard - A young guard who can spot up and knock down the three.
