2023-24 Upper Room Christian Season Preview
Upper Room Christian School is a private school and was founded in 1981 is sponsored by Upper Room Christian World Center, a born-again, Spirit-filled, non-denominational church, located in Dix Hills, NY. Upper Room Christian’s varsity basketball team will be starting off this season with a new coach at the helm of the program and new faces on the floor. Tom Patterson, former head coach for Kentucky State University (2001-2009) and current Director/Head coach for 238 Academy PG, will be on his 2nd go round at URCS, having also had the job back in 2014-15. Their Athletic Director is Vinny Ferrante. The team currently plays as an independent, but starting in 22425, they will participate in Suffolk County, Section 11.
His 2023-24 roster will feature the following players:
Giorgi Shalikiani (2024) 6’10 forward - Shalikiani is from the Republic of Georgia. Solid Center that scores in paint, has a soft shooting touch and has ability to handle the ball on the break. Good shot blocking presence on defense.
Giorgi Zurabashvili (2025) 6’6 wing - Zurabashvili is also from the Republic of Georgia, having been a teammate of Shalikiani there. He will help carry the the load. He is a really good 3pt shooter and is good at putting it on the floor to create. Guards multiple positions on defense.
Angel Redding (2024) 5’10, guard - Redding is an ELECTRIC guard that forces his will on the game and finds ways to make big plays. He gets it done on both ends of the floor.
Kristupas Barauskas (2024) 6’2 point guard - Barauskas is from Lithuania, will run the show for URCS. He does a little bit of everything, has a floor general mentality, shoots the 3 and gets down hill in attacking the paint. He plays both ends of the court with energy and 100% effort.
Andy Ngaindjo (2025) 6’3, guard - Ngaindjo is a solid player from Toronto that can guard multiple positions and play multiple positions offensively. The junior is very athletic with high IQ.
Jordan Redding (2027) 5’10 guard - Redding is a throw back guard that does a little bit of everything. A true freshman that will see quality minutes on this varsity team.
David O’Neil (2027) 5’8 point guard - O’Neil is a freshman with a very high IQ. He shoots the ball really well. He will have the opportunity to learn behind a senior this season at his position and play some quality minutes as the season progresses.
