2023-24 Avon Old Farms Season Preview

Avon Old Farms School is highly regarded boarding school for boys located in Avon, which is in Hartford County, Connecticut. Their athletic program has a deep tradition of placing their grads into college careers. Matt Mihalich is headed into his fifth season as the head coach at Avon. The Winged Beavers are coming off of one of their strongest seasons ever making the NEPSAC Class A (large schools) championship tournament and making a serious run at the Founders League regular season title.

 

Once again, the AOF 2023-24 roster is loaded with prospects that will draw college scouts to their Open Gym schedule this fall

 

Ben Csernak (2024) 6’8, 200lb, forward - A Post-Grad from London, UK that is athletic, versatile, and makes shots.


Antoni Vlogianitis (2024) 6’3, 170lb, wing - A Post-Grad from Long Island, NY that is a shot maker, ball handler, and good defender.


Blake Smith (2024) 6’3, 180lb, wing - Smith is from Pleasantville, NY and is an exceptional athlete and a playmaker. Team captain.


Ben McFarland (2024) 6’3, 175lb wing - McFarland is from Portsmouth, NH and is a shot maker and good rebounder. Team captain.


Jake Horowitz (2024) 6’2, 165lb,  guard - Horowitz id from New York, NY. He is a shooter. Team captain.


Joel Taylor (2024) 6’2, 175lb, guard - Taylor hails from Braintree, MA, and is a good athlete and a high character young man.


Matt Trotta (2024) 5’10, 160lb, guard - Trotta is from Trumbull, CT and is a good ball handler and a high character young man.


Rayshon Andrews (2025) 6’4, 190lb, small forward - Andrews is from Bristol, CT – Andrews is also an excellent football and track athlete.


Joel Nash (2026) 6’0, 160lb, point guard - Nash is from Norwalk, Bridgeport, CT – Nash is both a playmaking and scoring point guard. He is already drawing D1 interest.


Michael Hoffman (2027) 6’6, 215lb, forward - Hoffman is from Goshen, NY. He is a physical rebounder with a 6’8+ wingspan. He will be getting a great developmental experience in battling the college–bound NEPSAC upperclassman bigs this winter.
