Seward Park Campus is a “vertical campus” in the Lower East Side/Cooperative Village neighborhoods of Manhattan. Their teams are nicknamed the Bears, and they participate in the PSAL Manhattan A Division.

The boys varsity basketball team is coached by Katey Wentworth. Coach Wentworth is entering her sixth year at Seward Park and is approaching her 100th win with the program. After a summer of successful work, she is excited about the trajectory of this upcoming season. For the 2023-24 season, the Bears have a solid returning core from last season, and they look to put together a strong season with sights set on taking back the Manhattan A1 Division championship. With an athletic and tenacious set of guards Seward Park will rely on high pressure defense, shooting and a strong team culture to set the tone for the upcoming season. Their key players to watch are:

Elijah Mitchell (2024) 6’2 guard - A crafty wing with a smooth jump shot whose length and sneaky athleticism creates and advantage on offense and defense. Elijah is an intense player who scores in bunches and is a great rebounder - runs the floor well and makes winning plays.

Cameron Ruiz (2024) 5’11 guard - A strong guard who looks to attack and score every possession he can. Hard nose defender who works tirelessly to wear out opposing teams guards and wings. After a strong summer playing with Riverside Impact Cameron looks to have a breakout senior season. 3.1 gpa

Crishawn Chisolm (2024) 6’1 wing - An elusive undersized wing who runs the floor extremely well, moves without the ball and scores around the basket at a high clip. Sneaky length and athleticism creates issues for opposing teams when Chisolm is defending in the open court. Earned “Defensive layer of the Year” for the team last year.

Thadee Mpoyi (2025) 6’0 guard - A south paw scoring guard who gets downhill well and creates matchup problems against opposing defenders. An intense defender who reacts quickly and forces turnovers into easy buckets.  Shoots the ball well off the dribble and continues to get better and better.

Delano “Bam” McCollum (2026) 5’7point guard - A true point guard with a high IQ for the game - McCollum is a sneaky good defender who is tenacious on both ends of the floor. A good interior and transition passer who understands when to pass and when to score. Truly a “Heart over height” type of player who refuses to be looked over. 3.6 gpa
