John F. Kennedy Catholic Preparatory School is an Roman Catholic, co-educational high school located in Somers, New York. It serves 630 students in grades 9–12 from Westchester, Dutchess, Putnam and Fairfield counties and the Bronx. Their boys varsity basketball team has helped produce recent players such a as Elijah Hughes, Dom Cristiano and Malachi De Sousa. Looking to get back on track after a tough year, the Gaels hired recent Seton Hall Graduate Assistant, Marcus Matthews. The first year head coach is looking to rebuild the program back up to a contender. The team competes in the Catholic High School Sports Association, B Division.

The following will be the key players for the 2023-24 Gaels:

Sebastian Jackson (2026) 6’3 guard - Jackson is a smooth 6’3 combo guard with a pure stroke. Made the CHSAA “B” Division “ALL- League Team” as a true freshman last year. Can handle the ball, initiate offense and make plays for others. Figures to be in for a breakout sophomore season.

Anthony Mann (2025) 7’0 center - Mann is a raw but intriguing prospect for the Gaels standing at 7’0 tall with a 7’5 Wing span. While he still needs to develop his strength and finishing around the basket, he flashes potential with his shot blocking and shooting mechanics. Probably a year away but definitely a prospect to keep and eye on.

Devin Webb (2025) 6’5 wing- Webb will be a jack of all trade player this year for the Gaels. At 6’5 with long arms he is one of the more versatile players this year on the team capable of defending both on the perimeter and interior. Still developing his outside shot, his bread & butter is slashing is way to the basket for two.

Michael Cunningham (2025) 6’7 forward - Cunningham will be the X factor this year for the Gaels. Recovering from a summer injury, how soon and how ready Cunningham will be can ultimately determine how good the Gaels will be this year. He is a stretch 4 with the ability to pull defenders out to the 3 point line. He also does a good job of using his size and length to finish around the paint.

Saxon Sahon 6’5 (2027) forward - Sahon is a prospect a few years away as the freshman has just entered the high school ranks. But a prospect to keep and eye on the the Gaels with his size and skill set. Could play a key role down the line the in the success for the Gaels.
