2023-24 New Fairfield High Season Preview

New Fairfield High is the public high school in New Fairfield, CT. It enrolls approximately 600 students in grades 9-12. Their boys basketball team competes in the South-West Conference of the CIAC sand is set put some dynamic prospects on floor this year. As coach Donnell Harvey enters his fifth year, he believes this is his strongest team he’s had.


Returning four starters from last years team who made its first appearance in the state playoffs since 2016-17. After going 0-20 in 2021-22 season, they showed incredible improvement last year going 9-11 and look to build off that momentum. The Rebels now have experience, as well as depth and explosiveness as they continue to rise in the SWC. Here are their layers, which includes prospects that college coaches should have on their radar:


Chase Chin (2024) 6’2 wing - Chin is an elite wing who’s very versatile and a terrific defender. Plays AAU with Coach Harvey’s ACC Basketball Program. He averaged 8 ppg , 3 rpg, 3 apg, and 1 spg last year as a junior. Coming off a strong AAU season, Coach Harvey believes Chin has all the tools to play at the collegiate level. A high academic student who is a leader on the court and in the classroom. The Rebels are expecting Chin to have a break out season. 4.1 gpa


Kevin Murray (2024) 6’4 forward - Murray has dedicated himself this off-season to get into the best shape. The Rebels are counting on him to be a dominant force inside. Coming off a junior season where he averaged 4 ppg and 3 rpg, Murray has put in countless hours this off season in the weight room and in the gym to improve his game. Plays AAU with ACC Basketball.


Jordan Stunkard (2025) 6’2 wing - Stunkard averaged 8 ppg, 4 rpg, and 1 spg last yr as a sophomore. A crafty lefty, with incredible athleticism, who’s a knockdown shooter from 3. Plays AAU with ACC Basketball.


Daniel Nason (2025) 6’7 forward - Nason has size and athleticism that you can’t teach. A dominant rim protector. As a sophomore, Nason averaged 3 ppg and 3 rpg. Plays AAU with ACC Basketball. 3.2 ga


Kingston Pitt (2026) 6’4 wing - Pitt is a wing with the versatility to play and guard 2-5. Pitt has craftiness with the ball and ability to navigate to the rim. His combination of physicality and agility enables him to excel in various aspects of the game, both on offense and defense. Plays AAU with ACC Basketball.


Tyler Marshall (2025) 5’9 guard - Marshall is a high academic guard who is a player/coach when on the floor. A knockdown shooter from 3 who can finish with a floater over bigger defenders. Plays AAU with ACC Basketball.


Ryan Gautrau (2025) 5’10 guard - Gautrau is a lefty who knows how to score from all 3 levels. He averaged 5 ppg on 67% from the field. Plays AAU with ACC Basketball.


Jaden Arterberry (2025) 5’10 guard - Arterberry averaged 6 ppg, 48% fg, 1.2 spg,  and 3 rpg last year as a sophomore. A physical and defensive minded guard who takes playing defense personally. He knows how to frustrate his opponents and make it tough for them. Plays AAU with ACC Basketball.


Nick Martini (2025) 6’2 small forward - Martini was a dominant force last year. Earning All Conference Honorable Mention as a sophomore. He averaged 15 ppg, 50% fg, 8 rpg,  and 1 spg last year. An incredible athlete who has a relentless motor on both ends of the court. His energy is contagious and fuels the Rebels.


Owen Kraska (2025) 6’2 small forward - Kraska is a knockdown shooter from 3 off the catch and the dribble.


Jake Huber (2025) 5’10 guard - Huber is an explosive guard. Only a freshman he has the ability to create for himself and others.
