Located in the heart of Harlem, Frederick Douglass Academy 1 stands out as a premier college preparatory school, renowned for academic excellence and dedicated to equipping students with the tools needed for successful college endeavors. Their boys varsity basketball team competes fiercely in the challenging PSAL Manhattan A III Division.
The team is coached by long time former assistant coach and FDA alum, Andre Clark in his first season leading the helm. He is assisted by Abdul Bah. Heading into this season, FDA1 unveils a promising new lineup, rebuilding after the departure of seven in seniors. Marcus Vincenti (2024) 6’5 wing - A four-year varsity player, Vincenti is not only a strong academic student but also a force on the court.
