Dr. Susan S. McKinney High School is located in Fort Greene, Brooklyn, NY. The boys varsity basketball team competes in the Brooklyn A II Conference. McKinney is the home for less than 200 high school students, making it 75% - 95% smaller than some its divisional opponents in the past. The new PSAL conference alignment has McKinney as the favorite to win the A Conference City Championship. The Kings expect to schedule challenging non-League matchups against AAA programs as they intend to compete on the AAA level in the near future. Head Coach Fady Musa has put McKinney in a position to do special things. Developing and mentoring several student athletes to play college basketball, 7 of which received scholarships, one receiving a Division 1 athletic scholarship and two student athletes have received Division 2 athletic scholarships.

Below are the players on the 2023-24 team

Natequon “Cheewky” Bryant (2024) 6’3 point guard - Bryant is a pass first point guard. He stays calm under pressure and has great court vision. His ball handling and passing will have you saying wow at least 3 times a game. His poise and willingness to make the right pass will make him one of the top assist-to-turnover players this year. His offense has also consisted in layups, floaters and runners, he’s worked nonstop on his perimeter shooting and the results are showing in preseason play.

Jason Robinson (2024) 6’4 shooting guard - Robinson has a great touch on his jump shot. He is difficult to defend because of his ability to shoot off the dribble and take it strong to the basket.

Lawrence Austin (2024) 6’4 small forward - Austin has excellent footwork around the basket. He has exceptional athleticism and timing blocking shots. His speed and vertical jump ability make him extremely dangerous in transition and under the rim.

Kirk McFarlane (2025) 6’4 small forward - McFarlane can guard all 5 positions. He has exceptional length and a high motor for grabbing rebounds and pass and shot deflections. His ball handling is deceptive which allows him to get to the rim and create passing angles. McFarlane has been in the starting lineup since his freshman year as a spot up shooter. The experience has contributed to his High Basketball IQ and his shooting range of about 26 feet.

Javoie Daley (2024) 5’9 point guard - Daley is a Floor General that has a very high ceiling. Pound for pound one of the strongest guards in the league, exceptional ball handler and has great form on his shot. Coach Musa believes he will put it all together and be on his way to being the most improved player in the city.

Saevon Peterson (2024) 5’5 guard - Peterson has a lot of range on his 3pt shot. Very elusive, savvy, and quick on the defensive end.

Romeo Riley (2025) 6’0 guard - Riley is a solid spot up shooter, defender and rebounder. He’s been working hard in preparation for his upcoming junior season.

Rawle Payne (2025) 6’1 guard - As a sophomore, Payne guarded the opposing top guard. He’s fast, strong and hustles on every play. His 3 point shooting will help McKinney keep the opposing defense honest. His academics put him in line for being a scholarship qualifier; so it will be interesting to see how his on-court performance develops over the next two seasons. 3.2 gpa

Louidorme Charles (2025) 6’1 guard - Charles joined the McKinney program this past September. He is your typical underdog story that you find throughout NYC. He will look to take advantage of McKinney’s student athlete development. With the track record of developing junior transfers, such as Isiah Murphy and Jason Robinson, he looks to be the next McKinney student athlete standout that no one saw coming.
