The Westminster School is a private, coeducational college-preparatory, boarding and day school located in Simsbury, CT. The total student population is approximately 400, and includes pupils from 25 US states and 30 countries. Its basketball team competes in the NEPSAC Class B (mid sized schools) Division and the Founders League. The is coached by David Pringle. His 2023-24 key players are profiled below:

Jayden Reid (2025) 6’9 forward - During the AAU season Reid plays for the PSA Cardinals on the EYBL circuit.  He is a stretch forward that can shoot the ball beyond the arc.  He’s also a good passer and rebounder.  He’s also a rim protector and plays above the rim.  Reid already has six D1 offers and several other D1s showing interest.

Chris Powell (2025) 6’4 combo guard - Powell had an impressive EYBL and Peach Jam with City Rocks.  He is a crafty offensive player that knows how to get to his spots.  Not only is he a gifted scorer but he’s a great passer and defender.  Powell plays with a chip on his shoulder at all times.  He’s currently nationally ranked by 24/7 Sports and he already holds five D1 offers, and with a good amount of High Major interest.

Jermaine James (2024) 6’1 point guard - James played with NJ Shoreshorts Elite this summer on the Hoop Group circuit.  He is a talented point guard that can score the ball and also get his teammates involved. He is also a quality defender. He has been receiving interest from D2 and D3 programs.

Austin Black (2024) 6’6 forward - Black ran with Stamford Peace this summer, and is one of the hardest workers in the NEPSAC. He finishes around the rim, plays above the rim, blocks shots, and is a big time communicator.  Black is also starting to shoot the three ball with fluidity. He’s a top notch rebounder. Austin has been hearing from mostly high academic D3s.

Wills Lown (2024) 6’1 guard - Lown is a pesky guard that loves to compete. He plays with a ton of energy on both ends of the court.  He does a nice job of running the floor for transition buckets and he can also hit the three ball.  Lown has become a really good defender.  He is one of the captains of the team.

Ethan Villacis (2027) 6’2 guard - Villacis has been impressive during the open runs this fall.  He’s a smooth lefty, who know how to attack the basket and shoot the three ball.  As a freshman, he has a nice size and he’s able to defend most guards or wings.  His most impressive attribute is his passing ability.  Villacis sees the floor extremely well.
