Saint Mary’s High School is a private Catholic college prep school for grades 9th-12th, located in Manhasset, Long Island NY s . Their boys varsity basketball team competes in the Nassau Suffolk Catholic High School Athletic Association. They are coming off of two disappointing seasons, where they were hurt by the losses of key players transferring out to other schools. For the 2023-24 season, Ira Hunt thinks that he has the right pieces in place, including returning seniors that should help the team be very successful. Academic honors student.

Jagger Bascomb (2024) 6’2 guard - Bascomb has been on the varsity team since his sophomore year. He can score in many different ways with and without the basketball in his hands. He’s a tough defensive player with athleticism to match.

Aaron Durrant (2024) 6’1 point guard - Durant is a ball handling specialist. Saying “6’1” and “Aaron Durrant” in the same sentence is new for Coach Hunt. I.e., Durrant grew four inches over the summer. He was a tough player, and now he has more size to match. He can hit the 3 ball, and he can also slash to the basket. He also has a very high IQ. Academic honors student.

Clarence “CJ” Darby (2024) 6’6 forward - Darby has been a rebounding machine for St Mary’s, and now, he has also developed a nice shooting touch around the basket.

Elijah MacMillan (2024) 6’1 guard - MacMillan can shoot from long distance, but his favorite thing is the mid-range game. He is also impactful as a good defensive player. Academic honors student.

Myles Herbert (2026) 6’0 point guard - Herbert is a sophomore floor general with the IQ of senior playmaker. He has an extremely high understanding of the game. He can shoot the 3 ball, and can also finish at the rim. He gets after it as a good on-the-ball defender as well.

St Mary’s is also promoting sophomores, Cameron Sorrano and Justin Mompoint up to varsity, and Coach Hunt looks forward to getting their contributions at this level of play.
