2023-24 Archbishop Molloy Key Players
Archbishop Molloy High School is a co-educational, college preparatory, Catholic school for grades 9-12, located on six acres on 83-53 Manton Street, Briarwood, Queens. The boys varsity basketball team competes in the Brooklyn Queens AA Division of the CHSSA. Since 2013, the team has been coached by Michael McCleary. Below are the profiles on his key players this season
JP Maaba (2024) 6’0 guard - Maaba, is the veteran Guard on the court. He will have a strong season as he brings his exceptional shooting and defensive skills, along with his court intelligence. He will provide stability for his younger running mates as they make their run through the high pressure CHSAA AA schedule.
Elijah Small (2024) 6’8 wing - Get ready for an electrifying year as Small showcases his versatility, improved shooting skills, and powerful presence on the court. As a senior, he is determined to make his mark and have a standout year. With his improved shot selection and powerful moves from the perimeter to the rim, he will be a force to be reckoned with. Small’s versatility allows him to excel in various positions and contribute in multiple ways. Whether it’s scoring, rebounding, or defending, he consistently brings his A game and leaves a lasting impact on the game .
Josh Powell (2026) 6’5 wing - Molloy is projecting an incredible sophomore year as Powell brings his exceptional skills, mature leadership, and high-ranking player status. As a talented athlete, he is determined to lead the team and make a big impact on the court this year. With his dedication, hard work, and passion for the game, Powell should have a major role in Molloy’s success of this year season.
Myles Miller (2026) 6’3 shooting guard - Miller is a talented addition to Molloy team. He brings both offensive prowess and defensive skills. He will add firepower to the Molloy team’s offensive attack. Defensively, he can shut down opponents and create turnovers. He is a true asset on both ends of the court.
Miles Jones (2024) 6’1 point guard - Jones is a highly intelligent player who plays within the confines of a point guard, providing leadership and bringing major balance to the team. His ability to control the pace of the game and make smart decision is a game-changer.
