2023-24 Knox School Season Preview

Founded in 1904 by Mary Alice Knox, a teacher from Wellesley College, The Knox School is the oldest established private school on Long Island. Today, Knox is a co-educational boarding and day school for grades 6-12. The boys varsity basketball team plays a independent, nonconference schedule and is coached by Navro Allen. In college, Navro played both JUCO and D1 college ball. His basketball training career began by working with Jerry Powell at Basketball Results in the early 2000s.  Navaro went on to coach several successful high school programs while his most recent coaching includes a boys’ youth team in Commack, Team Underrated. The following are his key players for the 2023-24 season.


KJ Anderson (2025) 6’7 small forward - Anderson can score on all three levels. He handles the ball well and creates for others.


Regi Pierre (2024) 6’5 guard - Pierre is exceptionally athletic. He is an incredible defender and with the recent improvement of his 3-point shooting, the sky is the limit.

 

Fabian Wheatley (2025) 6’1 point guard - Wheatley is a dynamic floor general. He can score on all three levels and plays above the rim. He is excellent at making plays for others, and he is a terrific on-ball defender.


Josiah Brillant (2024) 6’2 guard - Brillant is a great all-around defender. He can play on and off the ball as a combo guard. He can score and make others better. 3.7 gpa
 

Dell Nance (2026) 6’5 guard - Nance has a 7 foot wing span. He is a dynamic scorer. Mance is also is developing into an outstanding on-ball defender. 


Angel Yepes (2024) 6’7 forward - Yepes is a great shooter. Given his height and shooting ability, he usually pulls an opposing big out away from rim protection duties.
