Mount St Michael Academy is an all-boys Roman Catholic high school in the Wakefield neighborhood of the New York City borough of the Bronx, bordering the city of Mount Vernon in Westchester County. Their boys varsity basketball team competes in the AA Division of the CHSAA. The team is coached by the veteran Thomas Fraher in his 31st season at the helm.  His key players for the 2023-24 season will be as follows:

Mekhi Philogene (2024) 5’11 point guard - Philogene has the ability to score the ball in transition and also in the half court. He is a solid free throw shooter. He needs to develop physically. Philogene does a good job of getting into the lane where he puts pressure on the defense. He is a solid defender both on and off of the ball. He also rebounds well for a small guard.

Noah Williams (2025) 5’10 point guard - Williams can really push the ball and is a better than average shooter, both off of the catch and off of the bounce. He is a terrific free throw shooter. He guards the ball very well and rebounds it pretty well for his size. He needs to keep getting others involved on the offensive end. He plays with a ton of energy. Honor student

Josh Thompson (2025) 6’4 guard - Thompson is an athletic and physical player who has some fine skills around the rim. He is a match up problem for smaller guards because of his size and strength. He needs to improve his shooting and decision making with the ball.. He is a solid on ball defender, and rebounds it well when he consistently goes to the glass.

Tarren Wilkins (2025) 6’3 small forward - Wilkins is a very smart player with good instincts. He needs to continue to get stronger. He is a solid rebounder and mid range shooter. Honor student

Aaron Mitchell (2025) 6’5 center - Mitchell is a big physical player who is turning into a rebounding machine. His strong and athletic upper body makes him a tough match up on the block. He runs the floor pretty well for a big. He needs to become more consistent in scoring the ball around the rim. If all of his skills keep developing he has big upside as a high school 5.

McKhel Joyner (2025) point guard - Joyner is a floor general who loves to make plays with the ball, and getting others involved in the offense. He runs the break real well, knowing where the scorers are. He is a solid on ball defender and a leader. Honor student

Caleb Andigue (2025) 6’8 forward - Andigue will be out until January with a foot injury. He is a solid post up player with terrific footwork and ball skills around the hoop. He can also step out and shoot the 3. His long and athletic frame makes him a solid defender. Rim protection and rebounding are his major strengths. Good free throw shooter.

Lebron Owusu (2025) 6’0 guard - Owusu is a tremendous defender who is athletic and can make open shots. He needs to develop more of a floor game as a small guard. He is solid from the free throw line. Honor student
