Forest Hills High is a public high school in Forest Hills, Queens. It educates students in grades 9–12. It was founded in 1937, and almost immediately, the school developed a reputation for excellence. Special programs offered in the school include the Carl Sagan Science/Math Honors Academy, the Law & Humanities Institute, the Academy of Instrumental Music/Performing Arts and the Drama Academy.


Forest Hills boys varsity basketball team competes in the PSAL Queens-I AAAA Division. The team is again being coached by Ben Chobhaphand. Back in the day, Chobhaphand played basketball for Forest Hills High School and then Queensborough Community College. He has since coached many scholarship players and one who went on to play for the NBA, Maurice Harkless of the Orlando Magic. The Queens Courier named him Queens High School Coach of the Year in 2009.


The profiles on Coach Chobhaphand’s 2023-24 key players are as follows:

 

Keiji Clifton (2026) 6’5 small forward - Clifton is averaging 18 ppg, 5 rebs this season. He is a sharp shooter, highly skilled, always poised, and has a great feel for the game.

 

Pregnon Titi (2026) 6’4 forward - Titi is averaging 10 ppg and 9 rebs so far this season. He has a high motor, and does everything with aggression. He can handle the ball and shoot. His relentless rebounding, makes him a double double threat every night.


Jack Vasquez (2024) 6’3 guard/forward - Vasquez is averaging 10 ppg 6ast thus far.  His parents named him well in that he is the Jack of all trades for his team. I.e., he can do everything on the court that his coach needs. He handles the ball, shoots for scores and play makes for others. Vasquez has high level passing ability.

 

Jaydin Sanchez (2024) 5’9 guard - Sanchez is a 12 ppg scorer. He can flat out shoot the ball. He also can play make and break the press with his decision making and ability to handle the ball. At the other end, he is a solid on ball defender.

 

Aiden Zamor (2025) 5’11 point guard - Zamor is the team’s floor general and he is averaging 7 assists a game in doing that job.  He makes the game easier for his team. Zamor has great dribbling ability under pressure and can also score off of the dribble.
