2023-24 Barack Obama High Player Profiles

The Barack Obama School for Social Justice is a public High School located in Yonkers, NY. Prior to being named after the 44th President of the United States, the school was known as Palisade Preparatory School. It has been a high school since 2008, but is in its second year with its new name.



Obama/Palisade Prep has been competing as a varsity program since 2010, and has three Yonkers City Championships and 1 Section 1 Class C Championship (2013). The current team completes in Class A of the New York State Section 1 Athletics. The team is led by Sean Stahn, who has been coaching at the school for fourteen years as the varsity coach. Last year’s team went 9-11 and lost in the first round of the sectional tournament.


The profiles on the key players on the 2023-2024 Barack Obama High roster are as follows:


Miguel Gonzalez (2024) 5’8 guard - Gonzalez is a three year starter who was an all-league player during his sophomore campaign. Gonzalez is a three point sharp shooter but also averages 7 assists per game as he is a able to create open shots for his teammates, excelling on the drive and kick or drive and dish. Gonzalez will be a fine addition to the university or college that gives him an opportunity to shine at the next level.
 

Seediya Jabbi (2025) 6’4 forward - Jabbi is in his second year as a varsity starter, and is a Principal’s List student who currently sits second academically in the junior class . Excelling on and off the court, Jabbi is a walking double-double and in addition to points and rebounds, he has had three games already this season surpassing five blocks. A rim protector and force inside, his stock continues to rise as he works on his ball-handling and outside shooting.  4.0 gpa


Raheem Azeez (2025) 6’3 guard - Azeez is another high academic student w this semester and is a MBK Leader for the school. On the floor, Azeez is an offensive threat who can score at all three levels and is off to a hot start from behind the arc at 40%.  3.5 gpa


Dontaye Dunkle (2025) 6’1 guard - Dunkle is in his second year as a varsity starter and is also an honor roll student. On the court, Dunkle was recently named MVP of the Yonkers City Tournament, averaging 17 ppg during the tournament and guarding the other teams’ top offensive player each game. A lock down defender who can guard 1-5 and is also versatile on offense playing any position from the 2 to the 5. Dunkle is a gamer who brings relentless effort to the team.  3.3 gpa


Elvin Adrian (2025) 6’3 guard - Adrian in his first year on varsity is a guard and is a high honor roll student. On the court, Adrian’s speed and athleticism make him a tough match-up. He has great ability to get to the rim and finish with either hand.  3.7 gpa


Emanuel “Manny” Colon (2025) 6’0 guard - Colon is a pure point guard, who is very unselfish and always finding the open man.
