Theory 9 is a non-profit organization that focuses on the growth and well being of the Kingsbridge community, located in the northeast section of the Bronx. Established in 2019, the organization has hosted many holiday events, basketball tournaments and school drives for the neighborhood. They also run a grassroots basketball program founded by Shakir Seagers under the name of Rising Kings and Queens.

 

The 16u team is coached by Shakir Seagers and the 17u team is coached by Maurice Hargrow, and the players are as follows:

 

Nowah Hargrow (2024) 6’2 guard, Dewitt Clinton High - High level scorer. Gets to his spots and can knock down the shot from anywhere on the floor. Great basketball IQ. 4.1 gpa

 

Kajuan Kearney (2024) 6’2 guard, Our Savior Lutheran School - Kearney makes the right plays on defense and offense. Gets down hill and gets the ball to teammates. He gets his teammates engaged and controls the tempo, gets himself and the ball to the right spots. A team leader, knows how to handle adversity.

 

Darren McFarlane (2024) 6’5 small forward, Monsignor Scanlan High - He has athleticism and a good basketball IQ. He is a strong and physical post player, where he imposes his will. He has post moves and can finish with either hand. He also runs the floor and finishes above the rim. 3.5 gpa

 

Chris Diaz (2024) 6’0 guard, Monsignor Scanlan High - Diaz is a player maker, a knock down shooter, and a good defender. 3.7 gpa

 

Kyle Austion (2024) 6’5 small forward, Monsignor Scanlan High - Austion is coachable and has a nice midrange shot. He provides energy on both sides of the court at all times, by hustling on every play. 3.3 gpa

 

Kemar Martin (2025) 6’3 guard, Monsignor Scanlan High - Martin is a great finisher, a good shooter and a good ball handler. He also plays defense.

 

Kelvin Figureo (2024) 6’2 guard, Morris Heights High - Figureo gets to the basket and finishes through contact. He handles the ball well and can knock down open jump shots. He makes his free throws and defends well.

 

Jovanny Fabre (2024) 6’2 guard, Monsignor Scanlan High - Fabre is a fast, two way guard that prioritizes defense. He gets to the basket and finishes. He is also very capable of knocking down shots from 3.

 

Moises Batista 6’3 guard, Monsignor Scanlan High - Batista is a very versatile player that can do a little bit of everything. His rebounding and shot making ability are his strengths. 3.0 gpa

 

Darius Colds (2024) 5’4 guard, Mott Haven Community High - Colds get his shots from off-of-the-ball. He gets teammates open and handles the ball well. He plays good on-ball defense.

 

Oscar Martinez (2027) 6’5 small forward, All Hallows High - Martinez plays defense and finishes well around the rim on offense. He has a good midrange game and is very coachable. 3.8 gpa

 

Carlo Pineda (2026) 6’3 small forward, Cardinal Hayes High - Pineda plays great defense. He also attacks the basket well, is a good passer, and can get hot with his shot and score in bunches.


Francis Castanos (2026) 5’10 point guard, St Raymond High - A great Ball handler and playmaker. He can also shoot the ball. Plays great on the defensive end

 

Michael Samuels (2026) 6’1 guard, Christ The King High -  Samuels is a good shooter and defender, who plays with high energy. 3.1 gpa

 

Tyler Ascencio (2026) 5’10 point guard, Columbus High - Ascencio is a good mid range and 3 point shooter. He also plays good defense and finishes well.

 

Eric Bush (2026) 6’4 small forward, Earl Monroe High - Bush gets to the basket and finishes well around the rim. He also has a good midrange game.

 

Fabian Jimbo (2026) 6’3 small forward, Wings Academy - Attacks the basket well rebounds the ball good on post picks and ball movement /good defensive player. 3.2 gpa

 

Christopher Taylor (2026) 6’3 guard, Norman Thomas High - Finishes around the rim, hits spot up shots, breaks defenders down and a good defender. 3.0 gpa

 

Andrew Jenkins (2027) 6’1 guard, Jefferson High - A lock-down defender. He is a swift and smooth ball handler, who can get to basket, knockdown shots and make plays.

 

Josiah Davis (2026) 6’4 small forward, Dewitt Clinton High - A great finisher, who can also knock down the mid range shot and score in bunches. He is also good on the defensive end.

 

Chace Peters (2026) 5’10 point guard, Thurgood Marshall Academy - Peters handles the ball well and has a good IQ. He can knock down the three point shot routinely. 3.2 gpa
