2024 CM3 17u Player Profiles

CM3 is a New York City based AAU program founded by Charles Melone. Melone is also the Director of Athletics at the Variety Boys and Girls Club in Astoria Queens. Their 17u team is coached by Dr. Ken Hoyte, assistant coach at Brooklyn Collegiate High.
 

The 2024 CM3 17u roster is below:

 

Jaziah Luckie-Carter (2025) 6’7 small forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High - Long, lanky SF with high level guard skills. Began hearing from several D1s after a big summer on the Marquee Hoops circuit last year. Missed much of the 2023-24 high school season with injuries but looking to become one of NYC’s premier 2025 prospects.


Toribola Babs-Ogundeji (2024/25) 6’5 small forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High - Ogundeji uses his 7’ wingspan to lock up on defense – can guard 1-4. Three-level scorer who brings great energy. Visiting D1s this spring and considering a postgrad prep year.


Sheriff Akerele (2025) 6’5 power forward, 2025 Brooklyn Collegiate - Strong forward who uses his strength and quickness to cause havoc in the paint. Improving jump shot and perimeter defense – should be one of the PSALs top forwards next year.


Amir Owens (2025) 5’10 point guard, Broome Street Academy - Quick and shifty PG capable of making jump shots in bunches. Great handle and IQ – stock should rise this summer.


Flavio Jean (2025) 6’0 point guard, Brooklyn Collegiate High - One of NYCs top 2025 PGs, a two-year starter and three-year captain at Brooklyn Collegiate. A tough playmaking guard who scores from all 3 levels. Elite IQ and doesn’t take a play off. Several D1s have been in to see him during the high school season.


Jayden Johnson (2024) 6’1 point guard, Cushing Academy - A crafty lefty PG who shot 48% from 3 at one of the NEPSAC’s top prep schools. Makes every pass and has an elite midrange game. Currently hearing from several D1 programs in the MEAC and MAAC.


Sean Johnson (2024) 5’11 guard, Canarsie High - Averaged 17ppg, 5rpg, 3apg at Canarsie. Elite shooting guard who gets to the basket at will. Brings a quintessential ‘Brooklyn’ toughness.


Tyler Edore (2024) 6’8 power forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High -  NYC’s top unsigned 2024 big man will likely be making a college decision soon. Led Brooklyn Collegiate in PPG and RPG. Holds Brooklyn Collegiate’s single season and career record for blocked shots. Capable of dominating the paint and shoots the 3 over 40%. 3.9 gpa


Ronnie Livingston (2025) 6’1 guard, Teacher’s Prep High -  22PPG at Teacher’s Prep. A rugged, high flying guard. An “and-1” machine who uses strength and athleticism well. Elite rebounder from the guard spot.


Da King Smith (2024) 6’4 shooting guard, Metro BDA - Big physical guard that averaged 18ppg 6rpg for PSAL Multiple Pathways League Champion BDA. Elite shooter who has great court vision and the ability to consistently pass guys open.


Shaban Jefferson (2024) 5’10 shooting guard, Newtown High - Quick guard with knack for finishing around the basket. Solid midrange game. Capable of defending 94ft.

 

Ashton Reynolds (2024) 6’4 shooting guard, Transit Tech CTE High - All New York State Second Team. One of the most athletic guards to come out of New York City of late.  An explosive big, lengthy, guard who is good at changing of the speeds. He can shoot the 3 and is an excellent passer.
