The New Haven Heat is a highly regarded developer of college-bound talent in the basketball rich Greater New Haven, CT region. Doc Kennedy runs the program and Lawrence McGill, assistant coach at Amistad High, coaches their 16u Made Hoops circuit level team.

Germone Barnes (2026) 6’0 point guard, Hamden High (CT) - Barnes is a high IQ lead guard who plays with intensity and is very unselfish. He has developed the ability to shoot off the catch.  He is a high level half-court defender who can guard positions 1-3.


Miguel Chaparro (2026) 6’1 guard, Amistad High (CT) - Chaparro is a crafty, speedy and confident guard who has a knack for breaking his defender down and getting into the gaps with ease. His biggest intangibles are his heart and motor.


George Ganim (2026) 5’10 point guard, Notre Dame-West Haven High (CT) - Ganim is a crafty guard who has the ability to get to his spots and make the right plays for himself or for others. He is a very fundamental and sound defender. 4.0 gpa


Jaynatae “Moca” Jackson (2026) 5’7 point guard, Hamden High (CT) - Jackson is a tenacious 94 foot defender who loves to apply pressure on ball handlers and create turnovers. He is also a really good rebounder for his size.


Mamady Kourouma (2026) 6’2 guard, Hillhouse High (CT) - Kourouma is a true athlete. He grabs rebounds and finishes taller than his 6’2 frame. This also allows him to play and defend 2-5 when needed.  He has developed into a really good catch and shoot threat.


Adrian “AJ” Shepard (2026) 6’4 guard, Rocky Hill Day School (RI) - Shepard is the youngest on the team but he belongs. First Team All SENE, First Team All NEPSAC Class C, averaging 18 ppg 6.7 rpg and 1.28 spg. He already has a college-ready body, running on a high motor. He is an elite slasher but he can also spread the court with his deep ball shooting. He is also a lock-down defender and rebounds with a passion. On the front end of building a very special career.


Takki Oliver (2026) 6’4 small forward, Amistad High (CT)-  Oliver is the youngest on the team and is still growing into his long and rangy frame, building his body out. He flourishes in transition, and uses his 6’6 wingspan to defend positions 2-4.


Emonie Devone (2026) 6’3 small forward, Wilbur Cross High (CT) - Devone is undersized low post force who can guard positions 3-5. He has also developed the ability to put the ball on the floor and step out to hit the occasional 3 pointer, which makes him a real match up problem.


Chris Torres Jr (2026) 6’3 guard, East Providence High (RI) - Torres is a high IQ guard who uses his size to get to his spots, set up others and shoot off the dribble at a consistent clip.  He also rebounds well as a guard, and can defend positions 1 through 3 at a high level
