2024 Team Crate 16u Player Profiles
Team Crate Basketball is a Far Rockaway, Queens based program that has been around for seven years. Their mission is to teach, develop, and offer the youth of the Rockaway communities the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while installing life lessons and values. The Rockaways are comprised of 12 neighborhoods along the southern edge of Queens and each are represented within Team Crate’s program. Their 2024 16u team is coached by Garry Vernon aka “Coach Lou”, and his roster is as follows:
Oesoemana Sacko (2026) 6’7 forward, St Francis Prep - Sacko is a “bully ball” prototype. He’s got a strong frame and good length which enables him bang effectively in the paint. He is also a problem to keep off of the offensive boards, and scoring on put backs. He will create mismatches at the next level because he can also work from the perimeter with a consistent catch-n-shoot 3 ball.
Troy Fason Jr. (2026) 6’3 guard, St Francis Prep - Fason’s energy and intensity are strengths. It fuels his ability to defend at a high level. Offensively, he continues to add skill. He is creating plays and shots off of the dribble. He can also knock down open threes.
Caleb Ourigou (2026) 6’10 forward, Woodmere Academy - Ourigou is trending toward becoming a High Major big. He already holds an offer from St John’s. He is big, strong and agile and very strong. He can score in the paint, including an unguardable hook shot. Defensively, he is a great presence on the interior. He blocks and intimidates shots near the rim, and he sucks in rebounds from a wide area.
