Empire Youth Athletics is based out of Long Island, NY. Their goal is to mold their players into hard-working, coachable individuals by providing a high quality coaching and training experience for them.

 

This 16u team is coached by St Francis Prep assistant varsity coach, Brian Haggerty. They are participating in the Hoop Group circuit tournaments. The following are the team’s player profiles:

Lawrence Hailes (2026) 5’11 guard, St Francis Prep - A crafty guard that has a great feel around the rim, and can also score efficiently from the mid range and 3. Hailes is lethal in transition. 3.6 gpa


Diego Reyes (2026) 6’2 small forward,  St Francis Prep - Reyes does a little bit of everything on the court. He can score both from inside and outside. He is a willing defender and brings energy every time he steps on the court. 3.4 gpa


Pavlo Papantonio (2027) 6’2 small forward, St Francis Prep - Papantonio can score at the rim, mid range, and has a great catch and shoot 3 shot. He is continuously working on his game on the court and in the weight room. He is a very unselfish player, constantly looking for his teammates. Coach Haggerty feels that the sky is the limit for Papantonio.


Johnathan Cruz (2026) 6’1 small forward, St Francis Prep - Cruz is an energy giver on the court. He is impactful as a constant communicator on and off the court. Cruz is a culture builder in being a high level defender, winning 50/50 balls and taking charges. 3.8 gpa


Jude Bulatao (2026) 5’6 point guard, St Francis Prep - Bulatao is scrappy. He uses his quickness to get to the rim, and he is a catch and shoot 3 point threat.


Deshawn Wilson (2026) 6’2 small forward, Earl Monroe Academy - Wilson plays with a ton of energy. He is a natural born leader. He can score tough baskets as an excellent slasher through the lane. He uses his length on the defensive end to get deflections, steals, and blocks.  3.4 gpa


Kareem Kanuteh (2026) 6’0 guard, Earl Monroe Academy - Kanuteh is a natural scorer. He creates his own shot and is lethal in transition. Coaches love him being a very vocal leader on and off the court.

 

Kameron Stuckey (2026) 6’0 guard, Earl Monroe Academy - Stuckey is a gifted scorer. He is crafty and strong in his ability to can create his own shot and shots for others. He will beat you in transition, and with his smooth pull up jumper. He is also prolific catching and shooting the 3.


Jayden Kiser (2026) 5’10 point guard, Earl Monroe Academy - Kiser always wants to impact the game, by picking up the full 94 feet. He is always willing to guard the other team’s best players. He is impactful in transition, and is constantly working on building his 3 point shot percentage. 3.1 gpa


Bryce Ozuna (2026) 6’6 forward, Earl Monroe Academy - Ozuna’s future bodes well, as he is always improving his game. He has solid foot work and touch in the post. He is an elite shot blocker. The combination of his high potential and dedicated work ethic projects very good things for this young developing big. 3.4 gpa


Cooper Cordes (2026) 5’11 guard, Lynbrook High School - Cordes is a knock down 3 point shooter. He is a very smart player who knows the game very well. Cordes is a vocal leader in practice and games. He is working on building his strength to finish more efficiently in the paint. 4.0 gpa


Chase Herrington (2026) 5’11 guard, Islip High School - Herrington is extremely lethal in transition. He flies up and down the court hunting lay ups or catch and shoot 3’s. Herrington does not fear anyone when driving it into the paint. 3.3 gpa
