The Riverside Hawks, one of NYC’s most storied programs, was founded by the historic Riverside Church in the early 1960’s. The program’s mission is still to help students and families use basketball to pursue academic opportunities and to promote their character development.

 

Their 17u team is coached by Daniel Colon , and his roster is as follows:

#0 Abdoulaye Konate (2025) 6’ 5 guard, The Patrick School (NJ) - Konate is a lengthy and uber athletic guard. He has a tight handle and breaks defenders down. He has a nice wingspan which helps his rebounding. He loves to run on the fast break and is able to finish efficiently around the rim.


#1 Tai Turnage (2025)  6’0 point guard, St Raymond High - Turnage will hit multiple 3’s from the NBA line in a game. He will also rise and drop it from the mid range. He pushes the ball in transition, and has a coach’s son feel for decision making. He is an active mover and cutter when off of the ball.


#2 Vincent Chaudhri (2025) 6’7 small forward, Northfield Mt Hermon (MA) - Chaudhri is bouncy, with great lift on his high-release jumper. is Similarly his dunks came in from high above the rim. He can handle the ball and create. He is a defensive weapon vs the pick-n-roll, as he can switch onto and cover every opponent.


#3 Austin Spencer (2025) 6’2 guard, St Peter’s High (NJ) - Spencer has a smooth release on his jumper and can splash it from distance.  He can also has a solid handle, is a good passer and can finish around the basket.


#5 LJ Saunders (2025) 6’3 guard, Blair Academy (NJ) - He is a knock down 3 point shooter who finds a way to get to this spots. He is also a crafty ball handler, and great teammate. Projected to be a D1 player.


#10 Kaelen “Deuce” Destine (2025) 6’1 point guard, Cardinal Hayes High - Destine can put the ball on the deck, but has a big rep for splashing the long ball. He plays with energy on both ends of the floor.


#11 Brendan Oliver (2025) 6’6 small forward, Blair Academy (NJ) - Oliver is super athletic and was major contributor as to his 22-4 Blair team this past winter. He is versatile defender, an improved shooter, and a rim attacker.


#12 Tyler Francis (2025) 6’8 forward, Hotchkiss School (CT) - Francis is a dynamic and athletic wing player who excels at driving to the basket with authority. His ability to navigate through defenders and finish plays in traffic makes him a formidable force on the court. With a high upside, Francis shows great promise as a player who can continue to develop and elevate his game. Offered by Manhattan.


#15 Evan Brown (2025) 6’3 guard, Hun School (NJ) -  Brown plays with strength and power, and is unafraid of drawing contact in the paint and rises up nicely on his jumper. He is a strong rebounder for a guard.  He has the length to defend multiple spots on the floor. Brown dropped a career-high 31 points against Immaculate Conception last season.


#20 Amadou Fall (2025) 6’9 forward, Millbrook School - Fall is on a rapid rise, he is coming off an All Conference Western Preps and All NEPSAC season. He is long, agile for his size, and able to change the game on both ends of the floor. An above average rim-runner and rebounder.


#22 Jack Bailey (2025)  6’10 forward, forward, Blair Academy (NJ) - Bailey holds multiple D1 offers, including Boston College, St Johns, Georgia Tech and Cal Berkley.  He has great his size, but he is also able to knock down the three or take his opponent off the dribble.
