2024 Unsigned Hype Showcase Standouts

On April 12, the place to be was the George Westinghouse High School in downtown Brooklyn for the Unsigned Hype Showcase Games, a showcase for high school seniors in New York City and surrounding areas that are in search of a college scholarship. Coaches from Division II, Division III & junior college schools were all in attendance, checking out potential talent. Here are the standouts from the event:
Mate Mamrishkivili 6-3, Shooting Guard, Abraham Lincoln High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to be a playmaker on the floor and has plenty of scoring tendencies. Has the ability to showcase his athleticism by going to the basket and throwing down dunks. Has a nice shooting touch from the outside and is great at creating for himself.
Jacob Roman 6-3, Shooting Guard, Nazareth High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor. Is a player that has great defensive tendencies and has the ability to stick with his man in order to get a steal. Has the ability to drive to the basket and is a good finisher when he goes into the lane.
Xavier Agyemang 6-6, Forward, South Bronx Preparatory High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has plenty of length and athleticism and finds ways to hold his own on the floor. is a good rebounder and likes to run downcourt afterwards. Is able to drive to the basket and is able to finish efficiently. Is fearless when going to the basket and is able to absorb contact.
Amara Sonko, 6-6, Forward, Brooklyn Democracy Academy, Class of 2024 - A forward that has plenty of strength and is a dominant presence on the floor. Has the ability to be a force on the floor and is able to make great plays in the post area and can attack the glass for rebounds. Has the ability to throw down powerful dunks and muscle his way in the paint and finish efficiently.
Prophet Fields 6-3, Point Guard, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to be a solid playmaker that is able to make his presence felt in different ways. Has the ability to make shots from three-point range, especially when it comes to him not being guarded. Is able to distribute the ball and make sure that his teammates get the ball and score.
Daniel Ogunleye 5-10, Point Guard, Epic South, Class of 2024 - A guard that is quick and deceptive on the floor and has the ability an offensive threat on the court. Is a true playmaker that has the ability to give his teammates the ability to score by getting them the ball. Likes to pull up and shoot from the perimeter and can also get to the basket and finish easily.
Jahmire Brewer 6-6, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has the ability to make plenty of great plays on the court and can attack in the low post. Also shows plenty of versatility as far as stepping out to shoot on the perimeter. Is a force as he is able to power up and finish at the basket.
Daouda Cisse 6-7, Forward, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has a high motor, as he is able to provide plenty of versatility and tough play when he’s on the court. Is able to use his physicality, as he is able to muscle his way to the basket and is good at boxing out the opposition for rebounds.
Jeremiah Peoples 6-0, Shooting Guard, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make great plays on the floor and is great at finding multiple ways to score, especially when it comes to finishing at the basket. Has plenty of athletic tendencies, as he is able to finish at the rim. Has good hands on the defensive end and is able to get steals efficiently.
Ahmed Cisse 6-4, Shooting Guard, Adlai Stevenson Educational Campus, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt on the offensive end. Loves to shoot from long range and finds ways to get open around three-point range and is able to anticipate the shot that he is taking. Is able to drive to the basket and is able to finish efficiently in the lane. Will also dish out the ball to his teammate if the opportunity arises,
