2024 Nike EYBL Session1 Top Performers

On the April 26/28 weekend, we caught a flight to Memphis, TN and then got to the Memphis Sports & Events Center for the first session of the Nike EYBL circuit. Four teams from the New York City area (PSA Cardinals, New York Rens, New Heights Lightning and Marston Elite-Rens United), Albany’s City Rocks team and Expressions Elite from New England all competed in multiple games from Friday through Sunday. Here are the standouts from the first session:

 

Preston Edmead 6-0, Point Guard, Williston Northampton School (MA), New York Rens, Class of 2025 - A guard that has great sense of awareness when on the floor and is looking to distribute to his teammates at all times. If there’s an opportunity to score, he doesn’t hesitate to take it. Has a penchant for shooting from three-point range and likes to drive to the basket. Is a solid finisher at the basket and likes to run on the fast break.


Brandon Lee 6-4, Shooting Guard, The Patrick School (NJ), New York Rens, Class of 2025 - A guard that has a penchant for getting open on the offensive end. Is known for his scoring prowess, most notably his shooting touch from the outside. Is able to put the ball on the floor and create for himself and is able to drive to the basket when the opportunity arises.


Vere Anthony 6-0, Point Guard, St. Francis Preparatory High School, New York Rens, Class of 2025 - A guard that is very deceptive when on the fast break and is also able to slow down the tempo of the game when it is time to reset the offense. Has the ability to find his teammates on the break and is able to give them the ball when they are open or when the right moment presents itself.


Jordan Skyers 6-2, Shooting Guard, Our Saviour Lutheran High School, New Heights Lightning, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to showcase his hustle and toughness on the court, as he is able to outwork the opposition for rebounds and steals. Is able to shoot from the perimeter and is able to finish in transition.


Connor Sprattley 6-0, Point Guard, Thomas Jefferson Educational Campus, New Heights Lightning, Class of 2025 - A guard that is very quick and is able to stick with his man on the defensive end. Has the ability to slow down or speed up the tempo when he’s on the court. Is known for pulling up for jumpers from three-point range and from the top of the key.


Keith McKnight 6-6, Shooting Guard, Hudson Catholic High School (NJ), PSA Cardinals, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to hold his own on the wing and is able to get to the boards and obtain rebounds when the opportunity presents itself. Likes to showcase his athleticism and is able to go up for a dunk. Is able to hit shots from the perimeter and from three-point range.


Darius Adams 6-4, Shooting Guard, La Lumiere School (IN) PSA Cardinals, Class of 2025 - A guard that is able to take over a game and able to pick opportunities to get his shot off when the opportunity arises. Is dangerous when going up to shoot from three-point range and is able to drive to the basket when the lane is open. Is fearless when it comes to obtaining contact while driving.


Harvin Guevara 6-10, Forward, James Monroe Educational Campus, PSA Cardinals, Class of 2025 - A forward that has the ability to make great plays on the court. Has long hands that aid in him blocking or altering the shots of the opposition and also obtaining rebounds. Has the ability to dominate in the low post on the offensive end, as he able to throw down dunks and also finish when going up for layups or putbacks on the rim.


Nigel James, Jr. 6-0, Point Guard, Long Island Lutheran High School, Expressions Elite, Class of 2025 - A guard that is shifty and is able to be a great playmaker at his position. When he is on the break, he is able to get to the basket efficiently and is a solid finisher. Is able to find his teammates around the basket and is able to distribute the ball to his teammates when they’re out on the break or in crucial moments.


Badara Diakite 6-10, Forward, South Kent School, Albany City Rocks, Class of 2025 - A forward that has the ability to use his length to his advantage and has a great motor every time he steps out onto the floor. Has a penchant for altering and blocking shots on the defensive and using his athleticism to his advantage. Is dominant on the low block on the offensive end, as he is able to power up in the paint and throw down dunks and can also step out and shoot.


Keyshuan Tillery 6-1, Point Guard, New Hampton School (NH), Albany City Rocks, Class of 2025 - A guard that is able to control the tempo of the offense and can attack in transition. Uses his speed to get up and down the court with ease. Is able to find his teammates in various places on the court and knows when to hit them with passes so that they can score. Is able to drive to the basket when the opportunity arises and is a good finisher.


Parrish Edmonds, Jr. 6-4, Shooting Guard, Notre Dame Fairfield High School, Albany City Rocks, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of athleticism and is able to get down court with quickness and sprint, so that he can be open to receive the ball. Has a penchant for driving to the basket and finishing in the lane. Is a very explosive player that is known for finishing at the rim.


Nico Peña 6-1, Point Guard, St. Peter’s Prep High School (NJ), Marston Elite-Rens United, Class of 2025 - A guard that has a penchant for being a huge offensive threat on the court and is a great shooter from three-point range. Is able to move around off the ball and can find ways to get open. Is able to dish out the ball to his teammates for an open look when they have opportunities to score.


Jordan Ghee 6-4, Forward, Don Bosco Preparatory High School (NJ), Marston Elite-Rens United, Class of 2025 - A forward that has plenty of strength and has the ability to make his presence felt around the low post. Is a strong rebounder and uses his body to outwork and outmuscle the competition. Has the ability to play above the rim and is a good finisher at the basket when going up for a layup.
