2024 Kings County Classic Top Performers

On Monday, May 20, the place to be was Thomas Jefferson Educational Campus in East New York, Brooklyn for the inaugural Kings County Classic, established by the Brooklyn-based NYC Prospects. In this event, players from the borough that played in the PSAL 4A division all came out to showcase their talent. Here are the standouts in the game.

 

Kevin Kearney 6-8, Forward, South Shore High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that has a lot of energy on the floor and is able to run up and down the court efficiently. Has the ability to use his wingspan to alter or block shots. Is very explosive and looks to throw down powerful dunks.

 

Scotty Lee 6-4, Shooting Guard, Boys & Girls High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to handle the ball and can distribute it to his teammates during crucial moments. Has a penchant for making explosive plays when going to the basket. Has the ability to shoot from the perimeter.

 

Mate Mamrishkivili 6-3, Shooting Guard, Abraham Lincoln High School, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to create for himself, as he is a high volume scorer on both ends of the floor. Is a player that has the ability to shoot from long range and is also able to drive to the basket easily. Has plenty of athleticism, as he can also throw down dunks.

 

Ajani Flemming 6-2, Shooting Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2024 - A guard that has the ability to be a solid player on the court and is able to help his team in various ways. Is able to break by his defender and drive to the basket efficiently. Has a good midrange jumper, which he shoots when he has the opportunity.

 

Jeremiah “JoJo” Jacobs 6-8, Forward, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2025 - A forward that has the ability to hold his own in the front court at all times. Uses his length and physicality to dominate in the post area over smaller players. Is able to obtain rebounds and then run down court efficiently. Is great at scoring in the point.

 

Trevor Lewis 6-1, Shooting Guard, Thomas Jefferson High School Campus, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to play tough defense and then use his quickness at the other end of the floor. When going to the basket, he is able to finish strong and can finish at the rim. Has the ability to get past the oppostion with his dribble. Is able to hit shots from three-point range.

 

Jah’da Swann 6-4, Shooting Guard, Thomas Jefferson High School Campus, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt on both ends of the court. Has a penchant for obtaining blocked shots and also has the ability to obtain rebounds. Uses his athleticism, as he is able to finish at the rim for two.

 

Tyler Edore 6-8, Forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2024 - A forward that is very versatile on both ends of the floor. Has a penchant for putting the ball on the floor and is ready to hit a jumper from the top of the key. Is able to power up when going up for a basket and is a good finisher.

 

Ethan Ostane Abraham Lincoln High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of size and has long hands that aid in him getting to the basket. Is able to use his length on the defensive end to obtain blocks and also rebounds. Has a nice shooting touch on the offensive end and is able to get to the basket with ease.

 

Amir Dockery 5-10, Point Guard, Eagle Academy II, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to use his IQ and grit to his full advantage. Has a penchant for getting past the defense with his slick handle and can finish through traffic in the lane. Is able to find his teammates the they are open or are streaking towards the basket.

 

Tori Babs-Ogundeji 6-5, Forward, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2024 - A forward with plenty of length and athleticism that can dominate in the post area. Has the ability to put the ball on the floor and can hit shots from the corner. Has a penchant for blocking shots from the defensive end and obtaining rebounds.

 

Connor Sprattley 6-0, Point Guard, Thomas Jefferson High School Campus, Class of 2025 - A guard that likes to control the tempo of the game to his liking and can attack the defense with reckless abandon. Is able to finish in transition whenever he’s looking to score. Has a nice jumpshot, which he uses especially if he is open.
