Ty Staples-Santos Sr. is a player development coach and Co-Founder of New England Supreme Basketball Academy. Below, we detail his recap of a couple of the college level potential student athletes from events such as New England Supreme/ConnecTalent Summer Basketball League and the Vertical Hoops Championship at Mohegan Sun.
Asher Abeles-Tierney (2025) 5’10 point guard, St Lukes School (CT) - Abeles-Tierney is twitchy quick and has a terrific handle and court vision. He will make the correct play and extra pass when needed, but also has a nice pull-up game of his own. Plays AAU with Project Triple Threat. 3.2 gpa
Mitch DeBernardo (2026) 6’1 point guard, Masuk High (CT) - Debernardo is a cerebral and composed pass-first lead guard who thrives in dictating the tempo of the game. He displays a sharp shooting ability from the perimeter, whether off the dribble or in a catch-and-shoot situations. He is fundamentally sound with excellent court vision and avoids forcing plays. As a team player, he excels in pick-and-roll situations, utilizing his exceptional footwork and understanding of angles and defensive reads to his advantage. Jaise Greaves (2027) 5’10 point guard, Archbishop Stepinac High - Greaves is a lightning-quick high basketball IQ point guard who plays with great passion. He puts immense pressure on his defensive opponents by adeptly breaking down defenses and driving to the interior, often setting up his teammates or finishing with a high smooth floater. His shooting off the dribble is exceptional, showcasing remarkable elevation on his mid-range jump shot. Defensively, he disrupts opponents by applying full-court pressure, leading to turnovers and chaos for the opposing team. Plays AAU with G-Elite. 3.8 gpa
Lawrence Lyalekhue (2027) 6’8 forward, Roosevelt High - Lyalekhue is a unique player due to his extraordinary physical strength. His physical power is nearly unmatched for a player of his stature. He possesses a solid understanding and a great feel for the game. He is a capable of dominating opponents physically of dominating opponents from the interior and yet also exhibits the finesse and skills of a smaller player to score from the perimeter. He has exceptional body control, soft hands, and surprisingly quick footwork. Plays AAU with G-Elite. 3.0 gpa
Tyler Newsom (2027) 6’4 wing, St Lukes School (CT) - Prior to his reclass and transfer to St Lukes, Newsom was selected as 2023-24 All State CIAC as a sophomore at Masuk High. Newsom is an athletic wing who can score from all three levels. He’s a good finisher driving to the hoop and has a nice mid range game. He defends multiple positions and rebounds well. Plays AAU with Rens United-Connecticut. 3.6 gpa
Parrish Edmond Jr. (2026) 6’6 Wing, Putnam Science Academy (CT) – Edmund is super athletic and does a great job moving without the ball. He needs to get stronger and get a better handle, which will take him from the LM/MM (He was recently offered by LeMoyne College) to a MM/HM projected level of college ball. In reclassing to a 2026, on his transfer into PSA, he has plenty of time to get that done.
