2024-25 Pomfret School Season Preview

Pomfret School is an independent, coeducational, college preparatory boarding and day school in Pomfret, Connecticut, serving 350 students in grades 9 through 12 and post-graduates. The Boys varsity basketball competes in the talent-rich is Class B Division, led by third year Head Coach Ronnie Turner. Pomfret School’s roster, like the majority of its NEPSAC opponents, is loaded with future college players. Below are the profiles on their key players for the 2024-25 season.
Kenny Donnelly (2025) 6’6 guard/foward (Millbury, MA) - Donnelly is in range inside the half-court line. He can playmaker on the perimeter, plays great off hand-offs, and is tough as nails. He’s a coach’s son and will come into his post grad year looking to expand his game. He is getting interest from low-major and high-academic schools. Plays AAU with Basketball Club of Rhode Island. 4.1 gpa
Nehemiah “Neo” Franco (2025) 6’3 guard (Attleboro, MA) - One of the premier shooters in New England, Franco has unlimited range. He has a great feel for the game and always puts himself in spots to be successful on the floor. He is getting interest from low-major and high-academic schools. Plays AAU with Basketball Club of Rhode Island. 3.1 gpa
Kevin Clarke (2025) 6’3 guard (Hartford, CT) - Explosive athlete that has a twitch you can’t teach. A righty with bounce of the right leg, Clarke is a great straight-line driver, two-foot finisher, and can knock down the 3. He can stunt a gap and get to a shooter at a high level. He is getting interest from low-major to high academic schools. Plays AAU with Connecticut Elite. 3.1 gpa
Yusuf Dakane (2025) 5’10 point guard (Lewiston, ME) - A Swiss army knife on the court, Dakane plays like a 6’4 guard. He gets in the paint, finishes well, makes plays for his teammates, and can knock down the 3. He led our team last year in offensive rebounding. He picks up 94ft and tests the opposing point guard’s conditioning. He is getting interest from low-major to high-academic schools. Plays AAU with Basketball Club of Rhode Island.
Brody Zahansky (2025) 6’1 Small forward (Pomfret, CT) - A 3 sport athlete who’s willing to do all the dirty work. Undersized forward that he makes up for with his willingness to rebound and play physical. 3.7 gpa
Omar Robinson (2026) 6’3 guard (Syracuse, NY) - Built like a grown man, Robinson has a college-ready body. At 205 pounds, he has Division I athleticism and can put the ball on the floor and in the hoop. Terrific 1 on 1 defender and can guard 1-4. His recruitment is sure to pick up his junior season. 3.4 gpa
Aidan Petion (2027) 5’10 point guard (Quincy, MA) - Petion keeps the ball on a string. He can get into the paint and make plays for his teammates. He can knock down the 3 ball. A pesky defender that can draw charges on the ball. Plays AAU with Above the Rim.
