Upper Room / 238 Academy 2024-25 Player Profiles
Upper Room Christian School is a private school and was founded in 1981 is sponsored by Upper Room Christian World Center, a born-again, Spirit-filled, non-denominational church, located in Dix Hills, NY. Upper Room Christian’s basketball program is running a Post Grad team in addition to their high school team. The post grad team runs under the guise of 238 Academy PG. The head coach Kaamil Dillard. The high school varsity is coached by Tom Patterson, former head coach for Kentucky State University (2001-2009).
The post grad team will participate in the newly formed Empire 8 Prep League.
Upper Room / 238 Academy will be hosting a full schedule of Fall Open Gym runs for college scouts to attend.
The 2024-25 program will feature the following players:
Compten Allgood (2025) 6’8 small forward - Allgood is a lanky forward from from Albany, NY. He still may have some growing to do but already has added to his frame and skill set. Allgood has a lot of potential to match his athleticism.
Jacob Marschall (2025) 6’10 forward – From Great Britain. Coach Dillard thinks that Marschall will prove himself to be one of the best bigs in Greater NYC this winter. He plays with a high motor and runs like a deer. He can both put the ball on the floor and score in the post.
Khamari Broomfield (2025) 5’11 point guard - Broomfield is explosive with a great midrange game. This year will be about getting him stronger and playing on national level. He is a blur, but plays with poise. He thrives in transition, often showcasing his athleticism with impressive dunks. He can get into the paint to make plays and is also a reliable three-point shooter. On defense, Bloomfield is a disruptive on-ball force.
Nowah Hargrow (2025) 6’2 guard - Hargrow is fearless on the floor, yet he plays under control. He can get any shot he wants and has great shot efficiency. He’s a very good spot-up shooter who understands how to create shots for himself off the ball. He had a huge summer in with dominant street ball performances. 4.0 gpa
Chiko Kalu Jr. (2025) 6’4 guard – Kalu is one of the best shooters you don’t know about. He is also great on the defensive end playing gaps and help weak side. 4.0 gpa
Joshua Louis (2025) 6’4 small forward – Louis is a high energy player that plays hard on both ends. He can play either forward position as he was a double-double machine for Epic South High in their quest for a City title last year.
Jarrett Rivera (2025) 5’10 point guard - Rivera is a hard-nosed guard who loves to defend and can thread the ball into the passing lanes. He leads his team to quick break away points in transition. He’s a true floor general always looking to involve his teammates. He can knock down the open 3 as well get to the rim at the ease. Plays AAU with NY Rising Rebels.
Marcine Allen-Boutwell (2025) 5’11 point guard - Boutwell comes to Upper Room/238 after being a two sport (football) star at Bellport High.
Jason Robinson (2025) 6’5 guard – Ro comes to Upper Room/238 after staring at Susan McKinney High. He has a great touch on his jump shot. He is difficult to defend because of his ability to both shoot off the dribble and take it strong to the basket. He is a big guard that can also play and defend both forward spots. He has a handle and game IQ to go along with it. He is bringing a great attitude and has been one of the leaders for Upper Room/238.
Jacob Roman (2025) 6’1 guard - Roman comes to Upper Room/238 after being one of the CHSAA’s top scorers for Nazareth Regional High. He has plenty of quickness and has the ability to score in transition. He creates plays off-the-dribble. He can also shoot from long range, especially in the clutch. Plays AAU with New Heights.
Nick Wilson (2025) 6’2 guard – Wilson is projected to be one of the top defensive players in the Empire Elite 8 this winter.
Giorgi Zurabashvili (2025) 6’7 small forward – From, Georgia, USSR. Zurabashvili can put it on the floor and he can play back to basket. The coaches are xpecting a big season from him.
