2024 CHSAA Tom Konchalski Showcase Top Performers

On Tuesday, September 24, RecruitTheBronx.com made it to Archbishop Molloy High School in the Briarwood section of Queens for the annual Tom Konchalski Senior Showcase, which was put together by the CHSAA (Catholic High School Athletic Association). The showcase was designed for players from all 31 schools in the boys portion of the league to play in front of college coaches from D2 and D3 colleges. Below are the standouts from the showcase.
Avery Taitt 6-2, Shooting Guard, Holy Cross High School - A guard that has the ability to drive to the basket and showcase his toughness when on the floor. Is able to attack the glass for rebounds and is able to hustle for loose balls. Is able to finish at the basket in multiple ways.
Patrick Rouse 6-7, Forward, St. John’s Preparatory School - A forward that is able to hold his own in the post and is able to attack the glass for rebounds. Is able to showcase his athleticism when going up to the rim. Is very active on the defensive end.
Vere Anthony 6-0, Point Guard, St. Francis Preparatory School - A guard that is able to be a fantastic all-around player on both ends. Is able to stick with his man on the defensive end, obtaining steals that can lead to offensive possessions. Is able to finish at the basket and is able to find his teammates when they’re open.
Jacob Gomez 5-11, Point Guard, St. John’s Preparatory School - A guard that has the ability to attack in transition and is able to find multiple ways to be on effective on the court. Is able to pull up for jumpers and is able to distribute the ball to his teammates. Is able to drive to the basket and is able to get past the opposition off of a quick first step.
Dylon Stanley 6-6, Forward, Holy Cross High School - A forward that is very athletic and can hold his own in the paint area. Is able to run the floor efficiently and is great at obtaining rebounds and blocked shots. Is able to a valuable asset to his team, due to his energy. Is able to throw down explosive dunks when at the rim.
Aaron Mitchell 6-6, Forward, Mount St. Michael Academy - A forward that is a powerful inside presence for his team. Is great at attacking the glass for rebounds and is very active on the defensive end. Has the ability to finish efficiently when at the rim.
Marcus Henry 6-7, Forward, Sacred Heart High School - A forward that has plenty of versatility in his game on both ends of the court. Has the ability to stick with his man on the defensive end. Is able to rebound and dish it out to a streaking teammate. Has the ability to finish at the basket.
Malcolm Ford Jr. 5-11, Point Guard, St. Peter’s High School - A guard that has plenty of quickness on the court and has excellent court vision. Has the ability to break down his defender off the dribble and has the ability to hit pull-up jumpers. Is able to drive to the basket and score efficiently.
Jayden Mercado 5-9, Point Guard, Sacred Heart High School - A guard that is able to control the tempo of the game and has excellent court vision. Has the ability to set up his teammates for baskets. Has the ability to finish at the basket and is able to use his quickness to advantage when on the break.
Devin Webb 6-5, Forward, Kennedy Catholic High School - A forward that has a very smooth game on both ends of the court. Has the ability to attack the glass for rebounds. Is able to move around on pick and rolls and anticipate the ball when he gets open. Is known for getting his midrange shot off efficiently.
Antonio Brittain 6-7, Forward, Monsignor Farrell High School - A forward that is able to make his presence felt on both ends of the court. Is very mobile when he puts the ball on the floor to show his versatility. Is able to dish out passes to teammates who are looking to do scoring opportunities. Is a solid defensive player, as he is able to alter or block the opposition’s shot. Is a great finisher when going to the basket.
Anthony Mann 7-1, Center, Kennedy Catholic High School - A center that has the ability to showcase his versatility with his ability to put the ball on the floor. When on the floor, he is able to block shots, due to his size and length. Has the ability to thrown down powerful dunks and can hit hook shots.
