2024 Achievement First Veterans Classic Top Performers

On Sunday afternoon, November 10, RecruitTheBronx.com made it to Achievement First High School in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn for the Achievement First Veterans Classic. This event consists of a series of exhibition games for Greater NYC teams before the beginning of the regular season. On this date, we caught three games featuring teams from the Tri-state area.


Below, we profile the standouts from those three games.


Raymond Kinnard 5-11, Shooting Guard, Earl Monroe Renaissance School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has a quick first step and is always alert on the defensive end. Has the ability to use his quickness to get to the other end of the court to score. Has a penchant for using his athleticism whenever he goes to the rim.


Devin James 5-10, Point Guard, Earl Monroe Renaissance School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of speed and is able to get down court with ease, especially after getting steals on the defensive end. Is able to control the tempo of his team on the offensive end. Is able to drive to the basket and finish in transition.


Calvin Rodriguez, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Lower East Side Prep High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of energy when he’s on the offensive end. Is able to finish efficiently when driving to the basket. Has the ability to shoot from long range when pulling up to the top of the key.


Manny Guity 6-5, Small Forward, Lower East Side Prep High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that has the ability to use his strength as an asset to due to his powerful build. Has the ability to use his physicality when it comes to crashing the boards. Is able to use his athleticism when going to the rim on the offensive end or finishing efficiently when going up for a layup.


Terry Smith, 5-7, Point Guard, William Grady High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of speed and is always ready to make a play whenever the opportunity presents itself on the offensive end. Has the ability to get to the basket and is fearless when going up for a layup, as he can also absorb contact. Has the ability to distribute the ball to his teammates when they are open.


Kaileek Minter, 5-11, Point Guard, Achievement First Brooklyn High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to make great plays on both ends of the court. Is a player that can score in bunches, as he is known to blow past the opposition when going to the basket. Has great defensive prowess as he is able to force the opposition into turning the ball over so that he can obtain a steal.


Tyler Romeo, 5-11, Shooting Guard, Achievement First Brooklyn High School, Class of 2027 - A guard that has a penchant for using his quickness in his game and is able to run down the court efficiently. Is able to get to the basket and is fearless when going to the paint. Is also able to distribute the ball to his teammates and put them in position to score.


Jahlil Murray, 6-5, Forward, Achievement First Brooklyn High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that is very long and agile and is able to hold his own in the low post is able to run in transition. Has great hands, which aid in him obtaining rebounds and also getting blocked shots. Is also a very athletic player, as he has the ability to get to the rim.


Flavio Jean 6-1, Point Guard, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to be a true playmaker every time he steps on the court. Has the ability to control his team’s tempo and can make sure that his teammates are in position to score at all times. Has the ability to drive to the basket and can finish in the lane with ease.


Jalen Waters 5-10, Shooting Guard, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that is quick and deceptive and has the ability to be a playmaker when he has the ball in hands. Has the ability to hit crucial shots from long range and won’t miss an opportunity to shoot when open. Is a player that has the ability to drive into the lane & finish in transition.


Shane Seymour 6-4, Shooting Guard, Brooklyn Collegiate High School, Class of 2027 - A guard that has plenty of strength and is able to handle anything that comes his way when he is in the paint area. Is known for crashing the boards for rebounds and is able to outwork taller players. Has the ability to put the ball on the floor and can drive and finish when going into the lane.


Jaysean Williams 5-10, Shooting Guard, The Patrick School (NJ), Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to use his quickness when going down court. Has a penchant for blowing past the opposition and finishing in transition. Is a good shooter from the perimeter, as he will take shots when left open.


Santonio Waide, 6-0, Point Guard, The Patrick School (NJ), Class of 2026 - A guard who is a true floor general. Has the ability to run a team and can find his teammates when they’re open or when they’re looking to score. Is able to control the team’s tempo when on the offensive end. Has quick hands and is able to force the opposition into turning the ball over so that he can obtain a steal.
