St Lukes School is a secular, private day school serving grades 5-12 in New Canaan, CT. Its boys varsity basketball team is coached by former Quinnipiac College Assistant Coach Tony Newsom and is assistant coached by Evan Downey. St Luke’s has a long history of placing their players onto college teams. They compete in their local conference, Fairchester Athletic Association and also vie to get seeded into the New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class B (mid-sized schools) post season championship tournament each year.

Asher Abeles-Tierney (2025) 5’10 point guard - A high IQ point guard with a strong pull-up game, and ability to knock down rhythm shots from behind the arc. He gets into the paint and finds open shooters. He is a solid on-ball defender, and he anticipates passing lanes as a help defender. Plays AAU with Project Triple Threat.  3.2 gpa  

David Gjergji (2025) 6’3 small forward – Gjergji finishes well around the rim and rebounds at a high level. He loves to draw charges.


Luke Carryl (2026) 6’2 guard - Carryl is a good shooter from three and has an an excellent mid-range game. He defends the ball well and rebounds.


Kaelon Commodore (2026) 5’10 point guard - Commodore is a good shooter with strong playmaking skills and excellent shot selection. He takes charges, gets into passing lanes, and contains his man defensively. Plays AAU with Pro Level Titans. 


Henry Cooper (2026) 6’2 guard - Cooper is a good finisher around the basket and an improving 3-point shooter. He is a strong offensive and defensive rebounder. Cooper is a physical and tough player. Plays AAU with DTX Basketball.


Bryan Wilson Jr. (2026) 5’9 guard - Wilson is a combo guard who slashes to the rim effectively and makes threes. He is a good on-ball defender. Plays AAU with High Rise Elite.


Saadi Ashraf (2027) 6’2 guard – Ashraf is a strong shooter off the catch and dribble. He is also a good defender on the perimeter.


Billy Galvin (2026) 5’10 guard - Galvin is a combo guard with reliable spot-up jumper.


Ethan Bien Aime (2027) 6’2 guard - Bien Aime is a lefty combo guard with the ability to get to the rim or shoot from three.  He is a long-armed defender who guards the ball well and gets into the passing lane for steals. Plays AAU with High Rise Elite.


Leneil Jones Jr. (2027) 6’1 point guard - Jones is a floor general with a strong mid-range shot. He excels in pick-and-roll situations. Jones uses his length well in perimeter defense, emphasizes effort in stopping opponents. Plays AAU with PHD Basketball.


Tyler Newsom (2027) 6’4 wing - Newsom is an efficient scorer at all three levels. He sees the floor well. He is an athletic wing who plays above the rim. Newsom is a disruptive on-ball defender who also rebounds the ball well. Plays AAU with Rens United. 


Peter Uzgiris (2027) 6’11 center - Uzgiris is a high ceiling, high academic, big man.  He finishes well around the rim with either hand and has shooting range out to three. He is a good passer out of the post. Strong shot blocker and an excellent post defender. Plays AAU ball with PSA Cardinals. 3.9 gpa


Evan Seitz (2028) 6’7 small forward - Seitz is a versatile post player who can finish around the rim and step out to the three-point line. He is a strong shot blocker and rebounds well on both ends.
