2025 Slam Dunk NY/Crusader Classic Top Performers
For the January 3-4 weekend, RecruitTheBronx.com joined more than three thousand high school basketball fans at the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY for the annual Slam Dunk New York/Crusader Classic. This event is a staple in the Tri-state area and features some of Westchester’s finest talent from both Section 1 public school league and the CHSAA. Throughout the event, there were plenty of players that shined and rose to the occasion when the opportunity came their way. Here are the standouts from the event:
Malik Gasper 6-8, Forward, New Rochelle High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that has quick hands and is able to hold his own in the paint. Is able to put the ball on the floor and muscle past the opposition when getting to the basket. Is prone to obtaining rebounds and boxing out his counterparts.
Izaiah Augustine 5-9, Point Guard, New Rochelle High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has great court awareness when he has the ball in his hands and is able to attack in transition. Has the ability to distribute the ball and make sure that his teammates are in position to obtain a scoring opportunity. Has a nice shooting touch from long range.
Bryce Thomas 5-10, Shooting Guard, White Plains High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the opportunity to score in bunches and is very fearless when going to the lane. Is a solid defender and is known for guarding the opposition heavily and forcing turnovers that could potentially lead to scoring opportunities. Has the ability to use his quickness to his advantage.
Jaiden Chavis 6-6, Small Forward, Peekskill High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that has the ability to put the ball on the floor and make smooth moves to the basket. Does not hesitate to take jumpers from three-point range. Has the ability to crash the boards and obtain rebounds.
Isaiah Crawford, 5-11, Shooting Guard, Peekskill High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has the ability to score in multiple ways and is fearless when going to the basket. Is a very speedy player on both ends of the court and is able to obtain steals when on the defensive end. Is a player that can shoot at a high volume from three-point range.
Aaron Woodberry, 6-2, Shooting Guard, Woodlands High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is able to make his presence felt on the court with his scoring ability. Has the ability to get past the opposition with a quick first step & is able to get to the basket with ease. Is known for creating for himself offensively and is a dead-eye shooter from three-point range.
Rockland Bousseau, 6-0, Shooting Guard, Rye High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that has plenty of strength and has a lot of toughness. Is able to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line, while also driving to the basket with precision. Is a solid rebounder, as he is able to outwork the opposition in the low post to obtain rebounds.
Brandon Burrell 6-1, Shooting Guard, Mamaroneck High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has a penchant for scoring at a high volume. Is able to create for himself off the dribble and is able to get to the basket with ease. Has the ability to get his shot off efficiently, especially when left open on the perimeter or via three-point range.
Brody Ceisler, 6-0, Point Guard, Byram Hills High School, Class of 2025 - A guard that is able to hold his own and is a great distributor of the ball to his teammates. Is able to run a fast break and is able to get the ball down court with ease. Has a nice shooting touch from three and can drive to the basket and finish efficiently.
Zach Efobi 6-5, Forward, Byram Hills High School, Class of 2025 - A forward that has the ability to be a formidable presence in the paint area. Is a ferocious rebounder that is able to establish his position in the post and is able to block shots. Is a great finisher when going up for a basket and also when going to the rim.
Jake Sussberg 6-5. Shooting Guard, Scarsdale High School, Class of 2025 - (Princeton University commit) A guard that has the ability to score in bunches when the opportunity presents itself. Has the ability to create for himself and can attack the basket and finish strongly. Has the ability to shoot high-volume shots from long range.
Dillon Callahan 6-4, Shooting Guard, Iona Preparatory School, Class of 2027 - A guard that has a strong presence on both ends of the court. Is able to make crucial plays on the court and is to obtain rebounds and block shots. Is able to drive to the basket and finishing strong when going to the hole and is also able to shoot from long range.
Johnny Keenan 5-11, Point Guard, Iona Preparatory School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is very quick and deceptive and can attack in transition. Is a deadly sniper from three-point range that can bury a team, especially when left open. Is able to distribute the ball to his teammates and set them up for scoring opportunities.
Jasiah Jervis 6-5, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Stepinac High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is known for being a slasher to the basket and can attack when in transition. Has the ability to get his shot off via long range and is able to flow well in is team’s offense. Has a penchant for crashing the boards and obtaining rebounds when the opportunity presents itself.
