Eagle Academy for the Young Men of Harlem (which is housed in the Percy Sutton Educational Complex) is one of the six schools in the Eagle Academy School Network. It is an all boys, grades 6-12 public school affiliated with the New York Department of Education. It was opened in 2013 and established by the 100 Black Men of America organization.


The boys varsity basketball team is coached by Jermel Collins-Day, who also serves as the Athletic Director of the Percy Sutton Educational Complex. The assistant coaches Moustapha Mbaye and Scooter Thomas bring years of experience, knowledge, dedication and leadership to the Eagle Harlem/Percy Sutton basketball program. They are making great strides in the central Harlem community through basketball to build a basketball powerhouse. The team competes in the Public School Athletic League, Manhattan II, 3A Division the intent to become contenders for years to come.

Below are the profiles of their 2024-2025 players.

 

Nile Edwards (2025) 6’2 guard - Edwards is a tenacious on-ball defender who has established himself as one of the top defenders in the PSAL. His exceptional intangibles, including a strong work ethic and leadership skills, make him a college coach’s dream. He leads by example, consistently demonstrating a high level of energy and commitment. He is also a skilled scorer, currently leading the team in points and steals, including a notable 52-point performance. His ability to dominate games on both ends of the court makes him a valuable asset. 3.8 gpa


Boubacar “Boobie” Blade (2025) 5’9 point guard - Blade is a dynamic four-year varsity starter who brings high energy to both ends of the court. His quick first step allows him to blow past defenders, and his improved 3-point shooting (45%) makes him a threat from beyond the arc. He has also developed his playmaking skills, emerging as a reliable leader who can create for himself and others. His experience and skills make him an attractive prospect for college programs. 3.0 gpa


El Hadj Niang (2025) 6’4 wing - Niang is a versatile player who can dominate games in multiple facets. At 6’4”, he has the size and athleticism to play both inside and out, handling the ball, blocking shots, rebounding, and scoring with ease. What sets Niang apart, however, is his unselfish nature and high basketball IQ. He consistently makes the right play, often sacrificing personal stats for the benefit of the team. His unique combination of skills and intangibles makes him a intriguing prospect.


Kamran Stewart (2026) 6’0 guard - Stewart is a talented lead guard who excels at controlling the tempo of the game. He currently leads the team in assists, showcasing his ability to create for his teammates. He is also a reliable scorer, possessing a smooth pull-up jump shot and the ability to get steals on defense. His well-rounded skillset and court vision make him an attractive prospect for college programs seeking a point guard.


Steven Tenorio (2026) 6’1 wing - Tenorio is a physical forward who dominates the glass and provides a strong defensive presence. As the team’s leading rebounder, he showcases his athleticism and positioning. He is also an excellent help defender, often making crucial rotations and contesting shots. Additionally, he has extended his range, hitting 3-pointers and providing spacing for his teammates. Tenorio’s all-around skills and high motor make him a valuable asset. 3.9 gpa


Moussa “Rasheed” Diaby (2025) 6’1 wing - Diaby is a high-energy lefty slasher who has made an immediate impact on the team. Despite being a new addition, he currently leads the team in offensive rebounds, showcasing his athleticism and tenacity. He also has multiple double doubles. Diaby’s relentless motor and aggressive playing style make him a matchup nightmare. As he continues to develop his skills, he has the potential to become a force.


Joshua “JD” Day (2025) 6’0 guard - Day is a spark plug for the team, providing instant offense and energy off the bench. As a knockdown shooter, he has multiple games with 5+ three-pointers, showcasing his range and accuracy. Day is also a great help defender, often making crucial rotations and contesting shots. His ability to provide a scoring punch and defensive spark makes him a valuable asset.


Antwan Keat (2026) 6’6 forward - Keat is a high-potential player with only two years of organized basketball experience. Despite his limited experience, he has already developed a strong skillset, including the ability to dunk with ease, shoot with form, and provide a strong defensive presence. Keat’s size, athleticism, and rapidly improving skills make him an attractive prospect for college programs. As he continues to develop, he has the potential to become one of the top bigs in Manhattan. 3.4 gpa


Justin Mujica (2027) 5’9 guard - Mujica is a talented guard who is a second year varsity member. Despite being currently sidelined due to injury, he is expected to make a significant impact next year. His defensive skills are highly regarded, and he has a reputation for being able to shut down opposing teams’ top scorers. As he returns to full strength, he will be a key contributor to the team’s success.


Karon Dixon (2028) 5’6 point guard - Dixon is a high-IQ player with notable potential, despite being the only freshman on the roster. He has already demonstrated the ability to knock down shots and create scoring opportunities, showcasing his skillset and confidence. Dixon’s intelligence, work ethic, and rapidly improving skills make him an exciting prospect for the future. As he continues to develop, he will be a key contributor to the team’s success.  3.9 gpa
