2025 BCANY Hoops Festival Stand Outs

On Saturday afternoon, August 2, we made it up to Monroe-Woodbury High School in Central Valley, NY for the Basketball Coaches Association of New York’s Summer Hoops Festival. The annual event which is a showcase tournament for public high school All Star players throughout the state of New York, represent their respective regions. Many of these players are under-the-radar talents that can potentially impact a college team in the next couple of seasons. Here are the standouts from this weekend’s event.
Amir Dickerson 6-3, Shooting Guard, Amityville High School, Suffolk, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt on both ends of the court and is a great playmaker on the offensive end. Has a penchant for driving in transition and absorbing contact when he gets to the basket. Has the ability to finish strong in transition and is able to attack the glass when it comes to obtaining rebounds.
Corey Faines 6-3, Shooting Guard, Bay Shore High School, Suffolk, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to use his quickness when he has the ability to finish in transition. Has the ability to distribute the ball to his teammates when they’re open. Is able to create for himself off the dribble when he is on the fast break. Has a penchant for being explosive when going to the basket.
Oniel Suero 5-11, Point Guard, Sewahanka High School, Nassau, Class of 2026 - A guard that has plenty of quickness and is very alert on both ends of the court. Is able to attack in transition on the offensive end and is able to obtain steals on the defensive end. Is able to zoom past the opposition to get to the basket and is a strong finisher when going to the hole.
Jake McCarthy, 6-8, Forward, Penfield Central High School, Rochester, Class of 2027 - A forward that is very mobile and is a dominant force in the low post. Is able to put the ball on the floor and power his way to the basket when on the floor. Is able to obtain rebounds and is able to make his presence felt on the defensive end, as he is known for blocking shots.
Cameron Blankenburg, 6-7, Winchendon School (MA), Rochester, Class of 2027 - A forward that has the ability to show off his versatility on both ends of the court. Has the ability to putt the ball on the floor and can create for himself off the dribble. Knows when to attack the glass and can obtain rebounds when the opportunity presents itself. Has a nice shooting touch when its comes to shooting jumpers from mid-range or from three-point range.
Luka Ioannisci, 6-6, Forward, Maine-Edwell High School, Southern Tier, Class of 2026 - A forward that has plenty of versatility in his game and is able to move around off the ball. Is able to get find ways to get open in the corner and can get his shot off efficiently. Is a true scorer in every sense of the word and is very skilled when on the offensive end. Is a solid defender, as he is able to block shots when the opposition is driving to the basket.
Nolyn Proudfoot, 6-0, Point Guard, Corning High School, Southern Tier, Class of 2028 - A guard that has excellent court vision and is a good playmaker when he is on the offensive end. Is able to get his shot off with ease. Is able to give his teammates the ability to score by finding them when they’re open in certain parts of the court.
JJ Osinski, 6-5, Shooting Guard, Christian Brothers Academy, Capital, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to establish his presence on the floor in multiple ways. Is able to get past his defender with a quick first step and can finish in transition. Is able to get his shot off quickly, especially if he is pulling up for a jumper, and if he is waiting in the corner for a three.
Rocco Natale, 5-10, Point Guard, Amsterdam High School, Capital, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to hold his own own the defensive end. Has excellent court vision and knows where to dish the ball out to his teammates in order to put them in position to score. Has the ability to get his jumper off efficiently, especially if he is left open on the break.
Tre Paulfrey, 5-11. Point Guard, The Nichols School, Buffalo, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt in the backcourt. Has the ability to use his quickness when he’s on offense, as he’s looking to either drive or facilitate. Is able to flash to the basket and can be open when on the break. I’d known for hitting pull-up jumpers on the wing and has a nice shooting touch.
Brandon Burrell 6-1, Shooting Guard, Mamaroneck High School, Hudson Valley, Class of 2026 - A guard that is known for being a true playmaker on the court. Is able to use his quickness on the court, as he is able to drive down court with ease on the fast break and is able to get open on the perimeter. Has a knack for shooting at a high volume, especially when shooting from three.
Kaiden Tyler 5-7, Point Guard, Mount Vernon High School, Hudson Valley, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to use his speed to his advantage at all times. Is a great facilitator, as he is able to find his teammates on the break and can give them the ball, which puts them in position to score. Has the ability to finish strong when driving to the basket.
