Notre Dame West-Haven is on a Helluva Run

Notre Dame West-Haven High School is a private, Roman Catholic, co-educational college preparatory school located in West Haven, CT, a coastal suburb of New Haven. Known as the “Green Knights,” Notre Dame High School’s athletes boast a rich tradition of success in the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference.  That includes the 2025 Connecticut State Division 1 Championship in boys basketball for the second consecutive year, won its second consecutive CIAC Division I State Championship, finishing the 2024-2025 season with a 28-0 record.


The team is coached by Jason Shea. Coach Shea has been Notre Dame’s basketball coach since the 2013-14 season, after spending the previous 10 seasons as an assistant coach for the program. His 2025-26 team, as profiled below, will be the odds on favorite to repeat as State Champions.

 

Jovan Lakaj (2026) 6’4, 200lbs, forward - Skilled forward who can pass, shoot, and finish around the rim. AhHighly intelligent basketball player. Lakaj is extremely strong physically. Will cause a lot of issues for taller and weaker players. Very athletic and above-the-rim capable finisher. High-level leader qualities.


Jon Jones (2026) 6’4, 210lbs, forward - Extremely high motor/hustle player. Outrebounds taller players routinely, especially active on loose balls and long rebounds. Runs the floor with a purpose and routinely scores off out running matchup. A+ positional and on-ball defender. Feet are very quick for such a big body. Scores off of pick-n-rolls, straight drives against slower players, and in transition.


Quincy Dormevil (2026) 6’3, 180lbs, wing - All-League as a junior. A high-level shooter, 40% from 3 as a junior. Nice second-level game. Pull-up/Post both at high %. Defensively very intelligent, making him an excellent team defender.


Eli Ssenyange (2026) 6’2, 180lbs, wing - Shot 41% from 3 as a junior. A clutch shooter, who tends to shoot a higher percentage in the bigger games. Very strong physically. Excellent defender. Will guard the other team’s best shooter extremely effectively.


George Ganim (2026) 5’10, 170lbs, point guard - Excellent ball handler with great quickness and change of direction. High IQ with the ability to score/shoot and break down defense to create for others. Will guard 94 feet and make life difficult for any guard bringing up the ball. Impacts games in a positive way.


Tyrell Bryant (2026) 6’1, 180lbs, guard - Bryant has been a wing at ND-WH, but can definitely project out as a point guard. Excellent quickness and fluidity in the game. Shoots the 3 at a high % and can score going to the basket. Very smart offensive cutter off screens and reads.

 

Landon Krygier (2026) 6’4, 200lbs, small forward - (Committed to Sacred Heart University) A strong, powerful player with the ability to drive and finish in a variety of ways. Shot 41% from 3 last season. Strong rebounder with the ability to lead the break after a defensive rebound.


Abdou Toure (2026) 6’6, 190lbs, Wing -2025 Gatorade Connecticut Player of the Year. 3-level scorer at the highest level. Top 1% nationally athletically
Extremely competitive with a winner’s mindset. Leader qualities off the chart. Career record at ND so far 76-5. Has received multiple High Major offers, including UConn, Kansas, Maryland, Cincinnati and Providence,


Kadrian “KK” Reeves (2027) 6’1, 165lbs, point guard - Lefty, extremely quick in all directions. Athletic finisher with the ability to finish above the rim. Mid-range pullup high-level level and 3-point shot continue to improve with experience (shot 34% as a 10th grader) and excellent form. Very difficult to guard 1 on 1 and on the flip side KK can guard and apply pressure for 94 feet. Scholarship level player.


Cyle Gore (2027) 6’1, 170lbs, wing - Strong/Tough winning basketball player. Drives and draws contact better than most and shoots a high enough percentage to from the outside to force defense out to guard. Will shoot close to 40% from 3 as he gets older and develops. Plays extremely hard and changes the game on the defensive side of the court with his ball pressure, motor, and competitiveness.


Tyler Brevard (2027) 6’2, 165lbs, wing - Excellent 3-point shooter. Brevard has added strength/weight this off-season, making him a better defender and
giving him the ability to get to and finish better around the rim.


Dimitry Beauduy (2027) 6’6, 210lbs, center - Missed Freshman year due to injury, but is healthy now and improving daily. Very good rebounder with a nose for the ball. Shot Blocker. Good touch around the rim, but will improve as his footwork catches up to his size and touch.


Sekou Toure (2028) 6’3, 180lbs, guard - Starting point guard for the Guinea 17u National Team in last summer’s World Cup. Very strong body and tough defender. Very good at making deep 3 with space and creates very well for others, with the ability to deliver passes with either hand from the paint area. Scholarship level player.


Ernest Ezekiel (2028) 6’6, 200lbs, forward - Strong body player who continues to improve his understanding of the game. High-level shooter for his size and position. Scores the 3-point shot off of the screen-n-pop very effectively. Has improved his ability to score off the drive this offseason. Excellent rebounder. Scholarship level player.


Bobby Shea (2028) 6’2, 180lbs, wing - High level shooter from 3 with range. Excellent catch and shoot off of screens. Strong body and solid defender with high defensive IQ, making him a good team defender.


Jaden Cintron (2028) 6’1, 170lbs, wing - Lefty, probably one of the most athletic players in the State.An above-the-rim finisher with an excellent mid-range pullup when he gets to his spot


Zark Sanders (2029) - As a freshman, showing potential to be a Scholarship Player.


Dwayne Trail (2029) - As a freshman, showing potential to be a Scholarship Player.
