The Masters School is a rigorous, college preparatory, five and seven-day boarding and day school located on 96 acres, 12 miles north of New York City.


The boys varsity basketball team is coached by Joey Kuhl. Kuhl had previously coached in the NBA’s G League, at the Air Force Academy and at Iona College.


The team competes in a local conference, the Fairchester Athletic Association, and they also compete across New England to land a possible postseason tournament bid in the college-bound player-rich New England Prep School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) Class B.

Below we profile their 2025-26 players.


Omari Levy (2026) 6’5 wing - 2024-25 All-FAA 1st Team as a junior. Averaged 18 ppg and 8 rebounds per game as the team’s leading rebounder and scorer. High motor competitor who impacts game at both ends of the floor. ELITE 3pt shooter and can score at all levels. Plays AAU with 6th Boro Hoops.


Luc Brongniart (2026) 6’8 forward. 2024-25 All-FAA Honorable Mention as a junior. Averaged 15.8 ppg and 5.5 rebounds per game. Tough, physical forward who can score inside and out. Good 3pt shooter off the catch. Lefty who uses body to score inside. Plays AAU with NY Rens United.


Hudson Rodriguez (2026) 6’2 guard - An aggressive wing who scores in bunches. Playmaker on drives to the rim and good 3pt shooter off the catch. Unselfish player who gives to his team. Plays AAU with Riverside Select.

 

Veljko Stanic (2026) 6’5 wing A talented 3pt shooter who can get extremely hot. Aggressive to score and rebound offensively. Serbian National.

 

Jake Raab (2026) 5’9 guard - A tough and unselfish guard. Good 3pt shooter and makes the right play. Scrappy competitor.

 

John Curley (2026) 6’3 guard - A great 3pt shooter who missed much of last season with injury.

 

Ben MacLean (2026) 6’7 forward. A rebounder and finisher around the rim.

 

Thomas McCallum (2026) 6’7 center - A shot blocker and finisher at rim. Hard playing big with a massive wingspan.

 

Lucas Laungayan (2027) 5’10 point guard - A transfer from Greenwich Country Day (CT) - Laungayan is an elite 3pt shooter with a very quick release. He is a good decision-maker with the ball. Pesky and tough defender. Plays AAU with Riverside Select.

 

Zach Stewart (2027) 5’9 guard - A tough, “glue guy”. Unselfish and plays extremely hard.

 

Damian Mojica (2028) 6’6 small forward - A transfer from Horace Mann School. An elite scorer from the mid-post. Great touch on finishes. Natural feel with the basketball and a talented passer. Great hand eye coordination. Talented player with big upside. Plays AAU with Wiz Kids-3SSB.

 

Noah Ferguson (2028) 6’5 wing - A transfer from Archbishop Stepinac. Ferguson is a great shooter and playmaker with the basketball. He brings great size at the wing wing and plays with good pace. Sees the floor and makes the right play. Talented player with upside. Plays AAU with Rens United.

 

Jake Toomer (2029) 6’1 guard - A transfer from Fordham Prep. Toomer is an elite 3pt shooter who shoots off the catch and bounce. He is quick and plays with a high IQ with the ball. Good passer and crafty finisher. Received an offer from Manhattan. Plays AAU with NY Rens.
