2025-26 St Francis Prep Player Profiles

St Francis Preparatory School is based in Queens, 152 years old and is the the largest private Catholic secondary school in the United States. It’s varsity basketball team competes in the Catholic High School Athletic Association, Brooklyn-Queens AA Division. Head coach Jimmy Lynch will be entering his ninth year at the helm.
Below are the St Francis Preparatory School players for 2025-26.
Oesoemana Sacko (2026) - D1 prospect, All CHSAA First Team last season, has already scored over 1k points in his career, can shoot and handle, protects the rim, elite rebounder. Holds offers from several school such as Fordham, Northeastern and Fairfield.
Cory Ballard (2026) – will see more minutes as the point guard this season, has added strength, can defend on the perimeter, gets into the lane, hearing from several D3 schools.
Jack Leary (2026) – high academic prospect who can shoot the 3, will play more minutes this season, starting quarterback for the football team.
Lawrence Hailes (2026) – potential breakout season, had productive offseason, terrific athlete, high academic prospect hearing from D2 and D3 schools.
Sean Ibert (2026) – will have opportunity for expanded role this season, plays wide receiver for football team.
Allen Watson (2026) – committed to St. Johns University as a baseball player, adds depth to the Terrier roster.
Tommy Stathopolous (2026) – committed to Caldwell for baseball, good athlete who will see more playing time this year.
Pavlos Papantoniou (2027) – JV MVP last season, physically strong and a willing defender, scores in a variety of ways.
Justin DeSena (2028) – second year on the Varsity, outstanding shooter and perimeter defender, has been in gym all summer adding speed and strength, high academic prospect, hearing from D1 schools.
Carter Prizzi (2027) – transfer from Cold Spring Harbor, 6’9”, terrific passer and high IQ, high academic, hearing from Ivy League.
Ethan Edwards (2028) – MVP of Frosh team last season, looks to contribute as a point guard this season.
