2025-26 Storm King Builds a College Prep Program

The Storm King School is an independent coeducational boarding and day school in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY, 60 miles up the Hudson River from New York City. Established in 1867, it is one of New York’s oldest boarding schools. It is a college preparatory school for students in grades 8 to post-graduate, with an enrollment of 185 and 37 faculty living on or near campus.
In the last few years, under the stewardship of Athletic Director, Nicole Cervantes and Head Coach, Michael Luongo, Storm King has transformed its boys basketball program from a small school varsity team into a program that is developing and placing college basketball talent.
The team competes in the New England Prep School Athletic Council Class B Division and is an annual contender for a seed in their Small School championship post-season tournament which sources the best teams in their seven state region. They prep for their winter season by commuting into Ardsley, NY compete in the Manhattan Sports Fall League.

Tayo Adeola (2026) 6’5 guard - 2024-25 All NEPSAC. and Team MVP. Adeola has a versatile skill set, an 41” vertical leap and a strong work ethic off and on the court. Known for attacking the rim, finishing with either hand, three point shooting, perimeter defense, playing off of 2 feet and constantly pushing teammates. He excels at attacking gaps relentlessly, spacing the floor with shooting and creating opportunities off the dribble. Defensively, he brings length, quick lateral movement, strong rebounding presence and ability to guard multiple positions. Beyond statistics, Adeola is recognized as a leader who loves to work hard, push teammates, communicates effectively and demonstrates high basketball IQ. Armani Checo (2026) 6’0 point guard - 2024–25 All-South-West Conference at New Milford High (CT). The team captain, Checo has a versatile skill set and a strong work ethic on and off the court. Known for playing with pace, his leadership and consistently impacting the game on both ends. He has strong ball handling and plays off of two feet in the paint. He runs the pick-and-roll, spaces the floor with good shooting and he finishes through contact. Defensively, he brings traits like quick lateral movement, verbal leadership and his ability to be a pesky on ball defender. Plays AAU with Rens United-MHC, averaging 22.3 ppg, 5.2 apg and 2.1rpg. 3.6 gpa
Nick Hughes (2026) 6’3 shooting guard - 2024-25 NY Section IX All-Conference at Minisink Valley High. Hughes has a versatile skill set and a strong work ethic on and off the court. Known for court vision, ability to finish at the rim, and three-point shooting, He consistently impacts the game on both ends. He excels at creating off the dribble and spacing the floor with shooting. Defensively, he brings shot blocking and strong rebounding. Hughes is a leader who pushes teammates, communicates effectively, and demonstrates high basketball IQ. He is committed to learning. Plays AAU with New York’s Finest. 3.5 gpa
Peter Regenauer (2027) 6’1 guard - Transferring from Faith Christian Prep where he was 2024-25 All NEPSAC Class C-Small and 2024-25 All Hudson Valley Athletic League, Regenauer has a versatile skill set and a strong work ethic on and off the court. Known for his elite athletic ability, passing ability, defensive and offensive skillset, and pure slashing ability, he consistently impacts the game on both ends. On offense, he excels at pushing the tempo, while still knowing when to slow it down, getting to the rim, finishing through contact, finding cutters, playing in the mid-range with the floater, handling the ball under pressure, cutting, and running offenses. Defensively, he brings quick lateral movement, elite defensive IQ, solid shot-blocking ability, good reaction speed, steal timing, and willingness to put his body on the line. Beyond statistics, Regenauer is recognized as a leader who pushes teammates, communicates effectively, and demonstrates high basketball IQ. 2025 Gym Rat Tournament All-Star and Made Hoops Circuit MVP. 3.8 gpa
Ryan Spector (2027) 6’3 small forward - Transferring in from Washingtonville High (NY), Spector has a versatile skill set, a relentless drive to improve, hustle, high basketball IQ, and vocal leadership on the court. Offensively, he moves well without the ball, makes unselfish decisions, and is working to expand his scoring range. On defense, he consistently brings energy, talks through plays, and guards multiple positions effectively. He has good court awareness and a team-first attitude. Nixon Belleus (2029) 5’7 point guard - Belleus has a versatile skill set and a strong work ethic on and off the court. Known for shooting and passing, IQ, court vision, lock-down defense, ability to finish at the rim, three-point shooting, leadership, and consistently impacting the game on both ends. On offense, he excels at creating off the dribble, running the pick-and-roll, spacing the floor with shooting, finishing through contact. Defensively, he brings quick lateral movement, strong rebounding presence, and the ability to guard multiple positions. Bellus is a leader who pushes teammates and communicates effectively.
