2025-26 South Shore High Player Profiles

At the peak of its enrollment, during the 1972–74 school years, South Shore High School of Brooklyn was the second-largest high school in the United States at the time. It was closed in June 2010 after graduating its last class and the building was renamed South Shore Educational Complex. The complex now houses five small schools, Victory Collegiate High School, Brooklyn Generation School, Brooklyn Theatre Arts High, Brooklyn Bridge Academy and the Academy for Conservation and the Environment.
It’s boys varsity basketball team competes in the PSAL 4A Division-Brooklyn/Staten Island II, and it is coached by Nick Lopez in his first year at the helm this season.

Alphonso Blaise (2026) 6’4 guard - A returning player who can do all things on the court. He will be the Swiss Army knife of the team as he looks to have a breakout year for the team.
Josiah Greaves (2026) 5’8 guard - Greaves returning starter who is able to score in multiple ways and run the team. Will have a major part of the team’s success
Jaydin King (2026) 6’6 small forward - King is a very good shot blocker and defensive presence on-court. He is good at finishing around the basket and running the lanes. He could be a special player with more experience and opportunities to be on court
Ejieeke Ukaegbu (2026) 6’4 - Ukaegbu is very strong and mobile to the basket. He has ALOT of potential to play at the next level with his skill set and IQ.
Carmelo Blake (2027) 6’7 power forward - Blake is a very strong inside presence with great hands and touch. He plays hard every possession and will have an impact this season.
Bryce Hardy (2027) 6’1 wing - Hardy is a nice skill set and can shoot the ball very well. He plays bigger than his size. He is an only a junior and looking to make a name for himself
Amor Gibson (2027) 5’10 guard - A utility player who does all the dirty work. A strong lefty player who can score and has a gritty mindset to rebound and get extra possessions for his team.
Anthony Penado (2027) 6’5 wing - Penado has a high ceiling and a lot of potential. He is looking to have a standout year using his athleticism and length on both ends of the floor. Keep an eye on his progress.
Levi Sylvester (2027) 6’0 point guard - Sylvester is lead guard with great passing ability and IQ. He is looking for a breakout junior year to make his mark in the City.
Clifford Geodan (2029) 5’9 point guard - Geodan has the capability to make his mark as a top 2029 player in city. He is a very aggressive defender and plays with a high motor.
