2025 NYC Invitational Standouts

On Sunday, December 7, RecruitTheBronx.com paid a visit to Cardinal Spellman High School in the Baychester section of The Bronx for the NYC Invitational The event featured some of the best talent from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. Teams representing the NEPSAC, NYSAIS, PIAA and CHSAA conferences came out to showcase their talent on the court. Below, we profile some of the standouts from this event.

 

Makhiye Washington 6-1, Shooting Guard, Curtis High School, Class of 2027 - A guard that has the ability to take over a game, especially during crunch time. Has a penchant for shooting from long range, as he is prone to coming off of screens and then getting his shot off efficiently. Is able to drive in transition and finish efficiently at the basket.


William Johnson 5-6, Point Guard, Curtis High School, Class of 2028 - A guard that has excellent court vision and is able to take command of his team. Despite his diminutive stature, he is able to make his presence felt with his defense and his quickness. Is able to find his teammates when they’re open or on the break. Is a good finisher when going to the basket, as he is determined to get to the cup.


Jamier Peters 5-9, Point Guard, Cardinal Spellman High School, Class of 2029 - A guard with plenty of poise and maturity beyond his years. Is able to control the tempo of his team and is known for dictating the pace of the action for his teammates. Is able to distribute the ball and put his teammates in position to score. Has a penchant for shooting from long range.


Elliot Erickson, 6-6, Forward, Cushing Academy (MA), Class of 2027 - A forward that has plenty of versatile skills, as he is able to score in multiple ways. Is able to make his presence felt as he has a long wingspan, which aids in him getting rebounds and blocking shots. Has the ability to drive to the basket and finishing at the rim. Has the ability to shoot mid-range jumpers.


Jake Nosek, 6-8, Forward, Cushing Academy (MA), Class of 2026 - A forward that has the ability to showcase his skills from the perimeter. Has a penchant for shooting three-pointers, as he is able to distribute the ball so that his teammate can score. Is able to drive to the basket and can finish efficiently.


Zach Walker 6-0, Point Guard, South Kent School, Class of 2027 - A guard that has good court vision and can make his presence felt. Is able to see where his teammates are moving so that he can set them up for potential baskets. Is able to drive past the opposite and then get to the basket, where he can finish efficiently. Is able to shoot three-pointers when he is open.


Colton Hiller, 6-6, Shooting Guard, Coatesville (PA), Class of 2028 - A guard that has the ability to hold his own on the court in various ways. Has the ability to make shots from long range and is able to attack the glass when it comes to obtaining rebounds. Uses his length and physicality when in the lane to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line and is able to finish when going to the hole.


Justin McKie, 6-3, Shooting Guard, St. Joseph Preparatory School (PA), Class of 2028 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt. Has a penchant for making shots from three-point range and is known for his scoring ability. Is able to drive into the lane for pull-up jumpers and is known for driving into the lane. Is able to distribute the ball to his teammates so that they can score.


Kayden Allen 6-6, Shooting Guard, Long Island Lutheran High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is very explosive and can attack in transition when he is on the offensive end. Is able to slice and dice his way to the basket and finish in transition. Is able to destroy the opposition when he is not heavily guarded.


T.J. Crumble 6-8, Forward, Long Island Lutheran High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that is very dominant in the front court and has a penchant for finishing in the post. Is able to finish efficiently when going to the rim and is able to obtain rebounds. Is a great shot-blocker when on the defensive end.


Javan Webb 6-6, Small Forward, Monsignor Scanlan High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that is able to hold his own when on the floor. Is able to put the ball on the floor and can drive to the basket and can finish efficiently. Has a nice shooting touch when it comes to mid-range or shooting from three-point range. Is also a solid rebounder when in the low post.
