2026 Slam Dunk NY/Crusader Classic Standouts

On Friday and Saturday, January 2-3, RecruitTheBronx.com made it to the Westchester County Center in White Plains, NY for the Slam Dunk New York Tournament/Crusader Classic. This annual showcase is where many of Westchester County’s finest programs come out to participate on the hardwood court which usually reserved for the New York Knicks’ G-League team, the Westchester Knicks. In this event, many of the area’s best made their presence felt, as they kicked off the New Year in style. Here are the standouts from the three games that RTB saw at the event.
Aaron Woodberry 6-2, Shooting Guard, Woodlands High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is known for his ability to score in transition and control the game on the offensive end when he has the ball in his hand. Is able to drive to the basket and finish smoothly. Has a penchant for getting his shot off efficiently from three-point range.
Sean McKenney 6-5, Forward, Woodlands High School, Class of 2026 - A forward that has plenty of strength and is able to use his physicality to his full advantage when on the court. Is able to put the ball on the floor and can muscle his way to the basket for two. When the ball goes up, he is a force when going up to the basket and will hit his teammate with an outlet on one end or will go for a outback on another end.
Bryce Seward 6-0, Point Guard, New Rochelle High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt in various ways on the floor. Has a penchant for making clutch plays on the offensive end, as he is able to drive to the basket and finish efficiently. Is a solid defender that has a penchant for obtaining steals and then getting on the fast break. Is able to distribute the ball to his teammates and give them opportunities to score.
Fynn Bowman 5-11, Point Guard, New Rochelle High School, Class of 2026 - A guard that is known for being very crafty on the offensive end and is able to score in various ways. Has a nice outside shot when shooting from three-point range. Knows when to attack the basket and is fearless when oncoming traffic on the opposing end is coming.
Jven Encarnacion 5-11, Point Guard, Fordham Preparatory School, Class of 2028 - A guard that is able to dominate when on the floor in a variety of ways. Is a terrific defender that is able to force the opposition into turning the ball over and can obtain steals, which can also turn into an offensive position. Is tough to contain when shooting from three-point range, especially if left open.
Brian Kapfer 6-4, Shooting Guard, Fordham Preparatory School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has plenty of size and length, he is a major threat in the offensive end in many ways. He is able to post up on smaller players and can get around them when going to the basket. Is best known for his shooting prowess, where he is lights-out. Is a great rebounder, especially on the defensive end, where he is able to corral the ball and drive to the other end of the basket.
Will Plunkett 6-3, Forward, Mamaroneck High School, Class of 2026 (SUNY Binghamton baseball commit)- A forward that possesses plenty of toughness and is able to be versatile on the offensive end. Is a solid defender on the other end as well, as he is able to make necessary plays to get his teammates the ball. Is a great rebounder that can attack the glass when the opportunity arises. Is able to drive to the basket and can finish efficiently and is able to draw fouls and get to the free-throw line.
Hassan Koureissi 6-4, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Stepinac High School, Class of 2026 (Fordham University commit)- A guard that has the ability to be a leader on the floor and has great court vision when on the offensive end. Has a nice shooting touch, whether he’s hitting a mid-range jumper or a three-pointer. Is able to distribute the ball to his teammates and puts them in position to score.
Josiah Jervis 6-5, Shooting Guard, Archbishop Stepinac High School, Class of 2026 (Michigan State commit) - A guard that has the ability to make his presence felt on the floor. Is a player that can be a major offensive threat when on the floor, as he is able to get his shot off efficiently when it comes to mid-range jumpers or three-pointers when in clutch situations. Is a defensive stopper that has the ability to obtain steals and can run on the fast break. Is able to drive to the basket and can finish strong.
Elijah Joseph 6-10, Forward, Iona Preparatory School, Class of 2027 - A forward with plenty of size and length and is a force in the post area. Has the ability to block shots and obtain rebounds while in the paint. When on the offensive end, he is very mobile and is able to play above the rim and has a penchant for making hook shots as well.
Joe Wolf 6-2, Shooting Guard, Iona Preparatory School, Class of 2026 - A guard that has the ability to make noise with his game. Is a dangerous scoring threat for his team from the three-point line, as he is tough to stop if not contained. Is able to drive to the basket and has the ability to finish in transition.
