2026 CT Takeover Player Profiles

CT TakeOver is a Connecticut-based grass roots program for ages 7-17 years old. Since being established in 2019, Takeover has provided year round training and high level competitive basketball. The program’s mindset is to help as many student athletes get to the next level as possible. It’s working, They already now have multiple alums playing in college. The Program Director is Darren Gilbert.
Their teams are playing in the Hoop Group Academic League.

Anthony “Ant” Tallarita (2027) 5’9 point guard, Enfield High (CT) - A dynamic off guard with a smooth, effortless style, he glides across the court and keeps defenders guessing with his deceptive first step. A knockdown shooter from beyond the arc, he stretches the floor while also creating his own shot off the dribble. His ability to attack the rim or pull up makes him a constant scoring threat.
Josh Lavoie (2027) 5’11 point guard, Norwich Free Academy (CT) - A true floor general, this point guard brings toughness on the defensive end while consistently making the right reads on offense. With a smooth mid-range game and the ability to get to the rim, he keeps defenses off balance and creates opportunities for himself and his teammates. His unselfish play and high basketball IQ make him the engine that keeps his team running.
David Tvardzik (2027) 6’0 guard, Hamden Hall Country Day School (CT) - A crafty lefty slasher who attacks the basket with confidence, he combines relentless on-ball defense with a high motor on every possession. Capable of lighting it up from anywhere on the floor, he can finish at the rim or knock down shots from beyond the arc. His two-way impact makes him a problem for opponents on both ends. 3.9 gpa
Jalen Douglas (2027) 6’0 guard, Newington High (CT) - A strong, downhill guard who can get to the hoop from anywhere on the floor, Jalen brings a physical edge to every possession. A tough, nose-to-the-grindstone defender, he impacts the game both on and off the ball while consistently filling up the stat sheet. From rebounding to playmaking, his high motor and team-first approach make him a complete player.
Ty Fieldhouse (2027) 6’2 guard, Enfield High (CT) - A sharpshooter who thrives spotting up or pulling up off the dribble, he consistently knocks down shots from deep with growing confidence. His length is a major asset, allowing him to impact the game on the defensive end and on the glass. With improved accuracy and extended range, he’s become a reliable and consistent threat from beyond the arc.
Mitch DeBarnado (2027) 6’2 guard, Brunswick School (CT) - A combo guard that can create his own shot with a quick twitch in his offensive game. He is a sniper from the outside, whose quick release makes it tough on defending him on the perimeter. Being a vocal player and high basketball IQ makes him a solid player, whose motor makes him an offensive threat all around the court. 3.8 gpa
Naiem Gill (2027) 6’3 guard, Platt High (CT) - A strong combo guard/wing whose physical presence is felt every time he steps on the court, he plays with an aggressive, downhill attacking style. His size, speed, and strength make him a matchup problem for any opponent, allowing him to finish through contact and control the pace. Defensively, his versatility stands out as he has the ability to guard positions 1 through 5, making him a true two-way asset.
Eddie Fiske (2027) 6’4 wing, Old Lyme High (CT) Eddie Fiske 6’4 Wing - A wing/forward who presents a matchup nightmare, he excels with his skill set around the basket and in the paint. With improved range from the outside, he’s evolved into a scorer who can impact the game at all three levels. His high motor, physical play, and strong basketball IQ not only make him a versatile threat, but also elevate the play of those around him.
Kingston Pitt (2027) 6’4 small forward, Brunswick School (CT) - A wing/forward who is just scratching the surface of his potential, his work ethic sets him apart and points to a bright future. A matchup nightmare, he brings leadership on the court along with strong defense and rebounding. As he continues to expand his shooting range, his basketball IQ and evolving skill set position him to make a major impact on the circuit this summer. 3.9 gpa
Ben Symecko (2027) 6’5 small forward, Cromwell High (CT) - A versatile, physically strong player with a powerful basketball frame, he has the opportunity to make a major impact for his team. His high motor and physical style of play make him a force on the defensive end, consistently disrupting opponents. Offensively, he can get to the rim with strength and confidence while also stepping out to knock down shots from the perimeter.
Matt Lysik (2027) 6’6 forward, Kingswood-Oxford School (CT) - Lysik is poised to take a big leap this summer, he’s put in the work to improve the consistency of his three-point shot and can now stretch the defense. He attacks the rim with confidence and brings a physical presence on both ends. A strong defender with continued growth ahead, he’s a player trending in the right direction. 4.2 gpa
