2026 New Heights 17u National Team Player Profiles

New Heights is a sports-based youth development organization that creates opportunities for youth to rise to their potential on the basketball court, in the classroom and in their communities. Their mission is to educate and empower promising underserved youth to be leaders, champions and student-athletes by developing the skills necessary for success in high school, college and life.

 

The coaches and educators are positive role models who guide youth through adolescence and into young adulthood, and motivate them to develop the social, behavioral, academic and athletic assets necessary for maintaining physical and mental health throughout their lives.

 

The 2026 17u New Heights National team is coached by Rodney Frazier, They play on the addias 3SSB circuit. The roster is as below.


Kamsi Awaka (2027) 6’10 Blair Academy (PA) - Prep All American Watch List player. Nationally ranked Top 75 player. Traditional big style player, using his size and touch to convert inside. Defensively, he blocks shots and altered attempts with his timing and length. Awaka rebounds at a high level Has multiple D1 offers, including Maryland and Texas Christian.  3.7 gpa


Kamari Whyte (2027) 6’5 Vermont Academy - 2025-26 Vermont Gatorade Player of the Year 2025-26 All NEPSAC AAA. Whyte is strong, downhill player who lives at the free throw line. He’s proven himself to be un-guardable at the highest level of prep ball. 3.3 gpa

 

Jayden Johnson (2027) 6’1 point guard, Elizabeth High (NJ) - 2026 All Jersey Sports Zone Public Basketball Team. 2025-26 All–Union County 1st Team. 2025-26 All–Group 4 First Team. Johnson is an elite shooter with deep range. Surpassed 1,000 points scored as a junior.


Chris Birden Jr. (2026) 6’8 forward, South Kent School (CT) - 2025-26 All NEPSAC AAA Honorable Mention. Birden is an elite athlete and shooter. He rebounds at a high level and runs the floor extremely well in transition. 3.3 gpa


Kyle Seltzer (2027) 6’9 forward, Williston Northampton School (MA) 2025-26 All Western New England Prep Honorable Mention. A 4 Star rated prospect. #11th ranked center in the nation by ESPN. Seltzer’s touch around the rim and footwork is high level. He also has a pure shooting stroke. Has multiple D1 offers, including Holy Cross, Iona and Detroit Mercy.  4.0 gpa


Alonzo Archbold (2027) 6’8 wing, Hotchkiss School (CT) - 2025-26 All NEPSAC Class 2025-26 All Founders League Second Team. Archbold is emerging as a dominant player. He has a high level skill set and a high major body. Has multiple D1 offers, including Boston University and Fairfield.  4.0 gpa


Jacob Canton (2027) 6’2 guard, Mt. Zion Prep (VA) - Canton is a tough combo guard, that is transitioning into being a true 1. He can score and lives in the lane. Has been offered by LaSalle and UMass-Lowell.


Talib Martin (2027) 6’6 wing St. Andrew’s School (RI) - Martin is a versatile and crafty player, with D1 bloodlines. Has been offered by George Mason and Iona. 3.8 gpa


Dazon Reid (2027) 6’5 guard, Huntington Prep (WV) - Reid is a versatile, “five tool” player. He can get a bucket in the blink of an eye and play at multiple gears. He is good rebounder from the guard position. Has been offered by Ohio University.  4.0 gpa
