2026 Rens United 16u-Shapiro Player Profiles
Rens United is an high academic oriented team affiliated with the renown NY Rens program. The program is New York City based but players are sourced from multiple states. They have a strong history of sending athletes to high-academic universities at all three levels across the northeast.
The 16u-Shapiro team is head coached by Jesse Shapiro. Coach Shapiro has over 19 years experience coaching in the grassroots. He has sent over 100 student athletes to college for basketball at all levels from high major Syracuse to high academic University of Chicago.

Naeem Bryant (2028) 5’7 point guard, Earl Monroe Renaissance High - Bryant is a scrappy guard with a high motor. He finishes well at the basket and plays great defense.
Beaux Fleming (2028) 6’0 guard, Avon Old Farms School (CT) - Fleming is an elite shooter and a great perimeter defender from Avon Old Farms that helps the team on both sides of the ball.
Lucas Mckenzie (2028) 5’9 point guard, Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School - McKenzie is scrappy, quick and has a good feel for the game.
Rio Mullins (2028) 6’4 small forward, Eagle Academy-Brooklyn - Mullins is an athletic wing that stretches the floor nicely with his 3 point shooting. He rebounds very well.
Khalil Nicholas (2028) 5’11 point guard, St John’s Prep - Nicholas is a crafty guard that plays the game the right way. He has a really good handle and finds his teammates. He is the team’s primary playmaker.
Luigi Pepaj (2028) 6’2 wing, Mamaroneck High - Pepaj runs the floor well, knocks down jumpers, and hustles.
Luke Perlyn (2028) 6’0 guard, Harvey School - Perlyn is a high level lefty scorer.. He shoots the ball at an extremely high clip, has super well controlled handle and passes well. He is a team leader who puts in a lot of work.
Alex Taylor (2028) 5’11 guard, Columbia Grammar and Preparatory School- Taylor is a high effort, and athletic player who is a good leader. He knocks down threes.
Will Torti (2028) 6’4 wing, Darien High (CT) - Torti is a great rebounder, who works really hard.
Jackson Welch (2028) 6’3 small forward, West End Secondary School - Welch is a high IQ, and skilled forward that passes, runs the floor, and rebounds very well.
